If your restaurant, cafe, or diner has limited counter space, this Avantco brand CO-14 quarter size countertop convection oven will take up less space while delivering the same powerful heat. Use this economically priced oven to toast bread, melt cheese, and warm sandwiches just before sending them out the window. Its convection technology circulates hot air evenly over baking items, helping them to cook faster.

The door doesn't close completely. I purchased two of this ovens and had to tossed them because they are useless. I complaint, but unfortunately because the return period expired I will not be able to get any kind of compensation. I see a lot of reviews and complaints on the same issue, the door is defective.

This thing is fantastic! We use it in our food truck for pretty much everything. It's a little on the small side but heats up very quickly and produces great results.
Samantha Boggs from Louami's Posted on 04/05/2016
This is the most amazing countertop oven I've ever purchased. It is definitely commercial. It bakes much faster than my regular household oven which I have in my business. It Cooks like the big $5,000 commercial ovens but is more compact I personally can fit 12 leg quarters in it at one time and they come out lovely. A must have for an economic chef

this oven is prefect for small coffee shop! i definitely recommend this product! the side of oven was not hot when we use it. i think it is good for safety.

I am very pleased with this product. I read mixed reviews on it before purchasing and I was very apprehensive, but after the purchase, I can say that I love this oven. My only complaint at this point would be the dial for the temperature and timer isn't precise. You have to guesstimate on it, but its a great product.

This Oven is absolute junk. I had the first one for about two months before it was broken webstaurantstore sent me a new one and now it has failed as well. I cannot imagine how anyone could give this a positive review unless they have not even used it yet. The bolt on the fan was loose making the fans Slap against the Shield. I have had two elements burn out. And the oven consistently shorts out. The thermostat is extremely in accurate as well. I highly recommend spending a little more and getting something that will actually work.

This counter top oven is making some killer treats for us at Red Light Roastery that compliment our coffee drinks oh so well! Clafoutis. Savory muffins. So many!
Adam Moore from Red Light Roastery Posted on 08/12/2016
This is a compact oven that pretty much does its job. It's about the size of a microwave. The top rack is too high to use for anything other than cookies. I found that if I remove all the racks and simply insert quarter sized pans without them, I can use all three tiers. After about 3 months, this oven had an electrical short and would blow a circuit, simply by plugging it in. I was about to pack it up to return it, when I decided to have someone take a look at it. Apparently there is a poor design with the wiring connector. The technician simply used a different (already available) connector inside. It took about 4 minutes for him to fix. I would have given this oven 5 stars, but for this petty problem.
Bill Myrthil from Capital City Creamery Posted on 03/17/2016
Good product for the cost. Doesn't always cook evenly. The three shelves inside cook at different temps if you have all three shelves in at the same time.

The Avantco CO-14 Quarter Size Countertop Convection Oven, 0.8 Cu. Ft. - 120V only takes up a very small footprint in the kitchen, it warms food up quickly and cooks very thoroughly too. I would recommend this to any business serving food!

The unit came well packaged and protected and arrived on time. This sees daily use on a moderate basis. So far it has performed well and as described. The size is excellent for counter top usage.

This is our second Avantco oven. The first was 1/2 sheet size and after less than 12 months had to discard it because the door would not stay closed. The Webstaurant store was kind enough to refund our money. We purchased this 1/4 size oven in February and it is holding up well. Purchasers should understand that Avantco products may be very inexpensive, but they are not the best built product you might expect. This quarter size unit came with a few flaws and design shortfalls, but we have adapted to its quirks and it serves our needs for baking chicken and roasting vegetables. . If I had to buy it again, I would, unless I was going to use it for some delicate type baking purposes where precise temperature control is a must. Pros: the oven door closes well every time so far Cons: The thermostat numbers are not accurate. You will need to insert a thermometer until you get used to where to set the dial for the temperature you need. We always use 350 and with this unit we have to turn the dial to 400 to get a fairly consistent 350. The shelf rack placement was designed poorly. There are three shelves and the top level is so high there is little room for clearance. Avantco could have easily lowered the entire shelf setup as there is ample space below the low shelf. Also, the racks are very thin steel and flex too easily minimizing the weight they hold. There is a timer switch but it only rings a bell, it doesn't shut off the oven, which is weird. Why bother with a switch if that's all it does? If you're looking for a basic use oven without any fine baking requirements you will get your value with this unit. I expect it well last a few years, but that's just a guesstimate.

Received the oven (2015-4-28), opened and tested. Electrically supping the oven with a measured 119.5-VAC, 20 AMP, 12 gauge circuit. 1: Removing the plastic protective covering on the top and sides of the oven went smoothly. 2: Beautiful high quality stainless steel inside and out. 3: Commercial duty construction. 4: Heats quickly, uniformly, and quiet. (SPL 58db, 1 meter from unit) 5: The new production run addresses the convection fan issue. Fan now stays on along with the heating element during the entire heating cooking cycle. 6: Good thermal insulation between the inner and outer stainless steel. Outer shell top is cooler than other ovens. 7: Simple controls. 8: Heavy duty 14 gauge power cord. 9: WEBstaurantStore.com ...excellence in website design, customer service and support. The not so good: 1: The protective plastic covering the door, is difficult to totally remove from the top corners of the door. Some still stuck under the stainless steel folds of the door corners. (see photo) 2: Essential to remove the stainless steel door handle allowing complete removal of the plastic protective covering the face of the door. No big deal, two small fillips screws, nonetheless must be done. 3: Due to the colors and design of the front label, it is very difficult to read the temperature and timer settings. 4: The cheep neon indicating lamps are awful. Lamps turn out to be useless. The green "Working" light is difficult to view. Turning room lights off helps. 5: The red "Power" light is brighter by a small margin, still difficult to see. (Indicating lamps need to be replaced with heat tolerant high brightness LED's). The bad: 1: Scratch on the inside center of the outer glass of the oven door. (Questions quality control) 2: When the timer ends it does NOT turn OFF the oven. The "TIMER" is downright USELESS. (Nothing more than a egg timer that ends with a low SPL bell sound) 3: Timer does NOT turn OFF oven consequently this can often lead to over cooking in a busy environment, loud environment or by simple forgetfulness. 4: Timer does NOT turn OFF (mains disconnect) the oven, a possible fire hazard and wastes energy. 5: Timer configuration never mentioned until reading the packaged operating manual. 6: CE and ETL listed but NOT certified or approved. 7: Unit is NOT UL listed or approved. Sum in one word; disappointed. A fantastic oven in need of a few production changes. The oven can easily become close to perfect.

We have only had the over for about a week but it works great. Heat up very fast and cooks food well. Chicken tenders and Mozzarella sticks come out hot and crispy, just like from a fryer but without the old. It hold 3 1/4 sheet pans so you can make a lot of food at once.
Nathan Mares Posted on 02/19/2015
Got this today, and during the initial seasoning run I noticed the fan was noisy, more so as it stopped. It was hitting on the shield in the back of the oven. I took the shield off (I am an appliance repairman) and discovered the nut on the fan had not been tightened! The fan was flopping around. Tightened it up (reverse thread) and all is nice & quiet now. 5- minute fix, but should not have been needed had QC been on the ball! One big downer has to do with the protective film on the unit that has to be removed. The film comes off okay, but that on the door was applied to the panel before the door was put together. Thus, some of the film is under the lips of the other door panels, and will not come out, leaving a ragged plastic piece of film on our beautiful stainless oven!

All I have had since I bought this oven from you are problems. First the oven came without the racks. Then you mailed the wrong racks. And then it took for ever till I got the right racks.... I bought this oven for my small cafe. We do small batches of cookies and brownies etc... and for the most part the size of the oven works fine for the quantities I need. The biggest problem with the oven is its lack of ability to hold temp. Once a week I bake of a few dozen buttermilk biscuits which need a high temperature to ensure proper rise. I set the oven to its max setting of 500 degrees, wait for the green ready light, and quickly place one room temperature sheet of biscuits into it. The temperature drops to roughly 275 degrees and will not climb back anywhere close to the 425 I would like the biscuits to bake at before they are finished baking. The temperature drop occurs with any item and the more trays you put in at a time the more severe the drop and length of time required to come back to temp. In brief: For things like cookies that are less sensitive to temperature fluctuations its fine but do NOT buy this oven if you do high temperature baking that is temperature sensitive.

This is listed as a heavy service oven, and we had it on at 350 degrees from kitchen open until kitchen close for melting cheese on sandwiches, shepherds pie and pot pie.. The convection / bake / roast element on the first one lasted 9 days then stopped working, and they sent us a 2nd one as it was under warranty. The replacement lasted 6 days and the same element stopped working. The door seal also can't handle the heat and melts / sticks to the oven, not a good oven.

We own two waring products and the regular oven works great. The product is good, but after 6 months the convection oven quit working. It is under warranty and we called Waring. They directed us to a local repair shop that wanted us to leave it with them. They said they couldn't look at it for a week and the repairs could take another 1 to 3 weeks. Sorry, but this is not acceptable. Most customers don't that extra equipment sitting around. Called Waring back and was told sorry. That is the best we can do.
Deepak Parmar Posted on 06/22/2015
Not really happy with this oven at all. It cooks unevenly, is noisy, and the door doesnt properly seal either. The steam vents onto the counter which creates a puddle under the oven... I'm awaiting webstaurant to issue an RMA so I can send this thing back. The manufacturer should be ashamed at putting out such a shoddy product.

Since then, we have used it to bake all of our morning pastry, cakes, scones, cookies, sandwiches and anything else we wanted to create for our guests. While it can't do what other - more powerful - ovens can do, we have been super happy with it for the past 8 months and think it was a valuable purchase.

DAVID UNTCH from JONABELLA CATERING Posted on 10/31/2011
I bought this oven thinking I would be able to bake three racks of cupcakes (36 total) at one time. Not the case. I can only bake one rack (12 total) at a time. Too many cupcakes means they either burn on the top of they're on the top rack, burn on the bottom if they're on the bottom rack or don't bake all the way through if their on the middle rack. I can't even bake 2 rows at a time. They don't rise properly and the back row bakes too fast, even when I rotate the pan 1/2 way through. AND, the back left cupcake ALWAYS burns. I think I'll be sending this one back. If you want to bake in bulk, don't buy this oven. Spend more and get something more dependable.

It did take a while to break in and get used to the different cooking times and temp but it's well worth it. I've made several batches of Gluten Free cookies perfectly and in large batches now that I can accommodate them with the space. Just be wary that pre-heating may take some time but shortens over time of use. Excellent deal and price from webstaurant.

This oven is a great convenience to have. Don't expect the same operation from a heavy-duty, in-kitchen model or you will be disappointed. This countertop model was not designed for the same purpose. This oven is good for reheating, hot holding, and baking in small batches. We use it on-site for festivals and catered events and it works out perfectly. Really good value for the price, and the fact that it can take half-size sheet pans makes it well worth it. Recommended product for light to medium duty use.
Michael Harden Jr from Caribbean Grill Posted on 02/24/2013
This convection oven has good price performance. It will not replace a 2x to 3x as expensive Vollrath or Cadco in some applications though, and does not have the same tolerance to abusive environments. The heating, as mentioned in other reviews, is somewhat uneven, not the best for pastries and such but fine for many other items. The case tends to run hotter than insulated commercial units (no insulation except for "air gap" between the inner and outer shells in the Waring). The Waring has a less durable feel to it, fine for use by the owner but perhaps not so good with abusive employees. The top is flat with no vents, and although not recommended by the mfg, items such as pots that are not affected by heat can reside there. The rear contains the fan assembly and projects about 3-4" (in a largish stainless covered hump assembly), so if rear space is seriously restricted this could be an issue. A good value for the price point.

We've had three of these ovens fail within 3-6 months of receiving them, we do get warranty support and they get repaired, only to fail again within weeks. We don't use them daily, but once or twice a week for baking and roasting chicken, peppers for salsas, cookies, small cakes etc. We received our second one DOA while the first one was in the shop for repair and had to go without an oven for over a week, which impacted our business. Currently I have two out for warranty repair, one for the third time, I would not recommend this item to anyone who needs an oven that they have to rely upon for business. I'm current;ly looking at other, more expensive ovens, to make sure we have continuity in our kitchen.

Christopher Sidell Posted on 10/16/2016
I really wanted to love this oven, but was pretty disappointed. I bought it specifically for the listed capacity which was 4 - 1/2 size sheets. Unfortunately, that is nowhere near accurate. For starters, there are only 3 baking racks so I am not sure how they came up with a 4-pan capacity. Then, if you use 1/2 size pans they will never cook evenly (on conventional or convection). There just isn't enough room for the heat to circulate around everything. So the back corners will get burned, the sides are cooked pretty well, and the center (especially on the bottom rack) will be raw. And if you open the oven door to check on them, be prepared to bake it for an extra 5-10 minutes while the oven gets back up to temp. I am now going to try it with 1/4 sheet pans, but if I had known that is all it would fit from the beginning I would have bought something else. It looks really good on the counter, but that is about it.
Andrea Custer from Gluten-Free Heaven Posted on 09/12/2016
Waste of money. I've only had the oven for 3 months and am actively looking for a replacement. The oven does not hold temperature. I've monitored using a oven thermometer and notice drops of 50 to 75 degrees below my target temp. For now, I'm setting the oven 25 degrees (in convection mode) above target temperature (of a regular oven) and hoping for the best. it seems the first batch of the day is fine, but it goes downhill from there.
Karen Egert from Karen's Canine Kitchen Inc Posted on 07/10/2016
We purchased this for a concession trailer. The size is perfect for the counters in there, but it still holds two half sheet cakes. We have never used a convection oven, but this one is very simple to understand and easy to operate. It even comes with the rotisserie attachment. I have used it a couple of times and it worked great each time. A friend told me to make sure to turn the oven down about 25 degrees lower than the recipe called for, so I did and also make sure that you use an oven themometer in it to get the temp just right.
Shelly Ayers from Shelly's Sweet Delights Posted on 04/20/2011
Perfect. Don't know what else I can say except it does run a little hotter in the back by the fan so we rotate about 1/2 way through to get even browning.

DO NOT BUY THIS OVEN. We ordered this oven on 9 May and took delivery of it about one week later. Since it arrived, we have had two problems with it. Prior to its delivery, we followed Vollrath's specifications for this model of oven and hired an electrician to install the corresponding outlet for it. When we received it, however, we were not able to plug it in because an incorrect cord/plug was attached to the oven. When we notified Vollrath, they said they would contract an electrician to replace the cord. They would not let us change the outlet to match the plug due to safety concerns over the incorrect cord. But - the plug was on back order. When we asked for a replacement oven instead, they told us that their entire line of full-sized ovens had been incorrectly fitted with the wrong cords (I confirmed with Webstaurant that their supply was also affected). After a week of waiting (and lost sales for our business), the plug was finally replaced and the oven seemed to be working well - for that day. Following one day of baking, the door got stuck in the open position; it would not close. One of the hinges had broken and requires me to move a metal bar with my fingers to close the door. After contacting Webstaurant for help, we were redirected back to Vollrath since this is now a warranty issue. When I described to the Vollrath representative what had happened, she said she would order the part for it and have another electrician fix it for us. I suggested that she have the electrician look at it before ordering the part, but she said that based on my description she knew what to order. The take-aways from this are Vollrath continues to sell these ovens knowing that the entire line was manufactured with the incorrect plug. They also seem to know that the hinges to these same ovens are faulty and still sell the ovens. I have contacted Vollrath three times over the last week regarding the oven door and have been assured I would hear back from them, but I am still waiting and continue to lose business. Now that they have our money, they do not seem to be in any hurry to help. Buyer beware.

Pros - Gets hot fast and cooks evenly. Fits almost anywhere Full size! Cons: Fan blows at insane speeds, makes baking light things difficult, and baking delicate cakes nearly impossible Sounds like a jet engine when the door is open. Timer must be on in order for the oven to stay on. No fan speed control.
Nicole M Margulies Posted on 12/10/2015
After waiting a month or two for backorder the oven worked well until the warranty expired. The door hinge broke and the oven was out of commission for two weeks. The Vollrath technical service rep was helpful in sending me replacement hinges even though the warranty had just expired; however, my kitchen had to use a small convection oven to make small portion meals. Now the same door hinge is broken again after one month, and of course during the busiest time of the evening. I wish i had done more research about this oven before purchasing as I expected more than 13 months of quality use before any break down. The people at Vollrath are very polite, but i have serious reservations about the product quality.

On the whole, this is a very fine product. The water injection is a real plus. It heats up very quickly and cooks pretty evenly. For a countertop oven that is a bit smaller than a full size convection oven, yo could not ask for more. There are a few issues, of course. As someone else noted, the blower stays on when yo open the door. To avoid this, yo have to turn the thermostat down to off, then turn it on again when you are done. That means you need to be careful about turning it back on. On ours, we gave a long blast of steam (but less than their recommended 2 second max) and the lights and their covers disintegrated. for some reason, the brackets holding the shelves stick out about two inches. That means that even when the shelves are out, if you put in a sheet pan of yeasted products, those on each end may rise up and stick to the next level of brackets. Those criticisms, however, are to some extent the result of the compromises apparently needed to make this available at this size and price, so on the whole I would strongly recommend this item to anyone that thinks it fits their needs best. .
Gil Bagnell from The Post Cottage LLC Posted on 08/19/2015
I purchased this oven as a "starter" oven in my new cupcake business due to the low price. My biggest complaint with the oven is that there is no way to manually shut off the convection fans. It constantly blows even when the door is open. This causes the inside temperature to drop dramatically and takes 5-10 minutes to heat up again to the proper temperature.
