Front of House

Our crew ensures that WebstaurantStore’s content is written to support you and your business. We’ve prepared some brief biographies on our team members to help you get to know us better:

Steve Ziegler – Industry Expert

Steve Ziegler

Expertise: Foodservice Equipment and Supplies, Training, Food and Beverage

Favorite Foodservice Resource: Monthly Coupon Code

Favorite WebstaurantStore Item: Jealous Devil Chunx 100% All-Natural Hardwood Lump Charcoal

Raised in Lititz, PA, home to WebstaurantStore’s office campus, Steve’s passion for food was inspired early on by his mother, a talented PA Dutch cook. He began his foodservice journey in 1986, washing dishes at a fine-dining restaurant, and soon after joined the warehouse team at Clark Associates, WebstaurantStore’s parent company. Over the years, he expanded his expertise by driving delivery trucks, serving as shipping director, and then into foodservice sales and sales management. While that direct experience is important, he credits most of his knowledge to his sales career, which led him to listen to customers in hundreds of kitchens, from mom-and-pop shops to large campus dining halls. He sees his Webstaurant career as a continuation of his efforts to please those customers.

Outside of his corporate roles, Steve has bartended and catered large events, all while raising three children and sharing his love of cooking with them. Today, with 40 years of hands-on experience, he serves as an Industry Expert at WebstaurantStore, where he’s led hundreds of product and vendor training sessions, developed recipes and cookbooks, and consulted with teams across Content, SEO, Procurement, and Video. While he’s an avid and good cook, his claim to fame may be the time things went hilariously wrong while frying gnocchi - a mistake that led to a viral video and an appearance on the Rachael Ray show.

At home, Steve continues to explore new culinary tools and techniques, often using WebstaurantStore products. He enjoys crafting cocktails with his wife and cooking for their adult children when they visit.

Katie Menter – Content Manager

Katie Menter

Expertise: Content Strategy, Content Editing, Recipe Development, Culinary Education

Favorite Foodservice Resource: Top Foodservice Trends

Favorite WebstaurantStore Item: Choice Stainless Steel Bench Scraper with Measurements

With over a decade of hard work in the foodservice industry, Katie wears her foodie title as a badge of honor. A New York native with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Beverage Management from Johnson & Wales University, she settled in sunny South Florida, where hospitality and tourism reign supreme. She currently holds a ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification and requires all writers on her team to be certified via the National Restaurant Association as well. Her other accolades include a WSET Level 2 Award with Distinction and is a Certified Beer Server via the Cicerone® Certification Program.

While working as a Catering Manager, WebstaurantStore was Katie’s go-to resource for all of her foodservice needs. When she got the itch to expand her horizons, WebstaurantStore was looking for another team member who invested some blood, sweat, and tears into the foodservice industry to help the content team curate helpful and authentic foodservice resources. From catering and coordinating large events and weddings to managing a team of food and beverage writers, her experience brings a unique perspective to the WebstaurantStore team. Katie works with our roster of expert writers to ensure that Webstaurant is publishing longform content that provides customers with solutions to the industry’s most pressing questions.

When she is not hard at work brainstorming the next best buying guide or blog, she can be found at a dining table of a new or obscure restaurant with her Chef husband, doing some culinary and cocktail R&D.

Janine Jones – Content Writer

Janine Jones

Expertise: Content Writing, Content Editing, Writer Trainer

Favorite Foodservice Resource: Types of Coffee Drinks

Favorite WebstaurantStore Item: EcoChoice Plant Fiber Plates

Originally hailing from Long Island, New York, Janine found herself working in the foodservice industry after moving away from the Big City to the quieter confines of Pennsylvania. After completing her degree in Creative Writing at Messiah University, she accepted a position as a Customer Solutions Specialist with WebstaurantStore.

In Customer Solutions, Janine worked to assist customers over the phone for 3 years, learning what is important to the WebstaurantStore customer base and foodservice professionals. She took that knowledge with her as she transitioned to the Content Department, where she has worked for over 7 years. This decade of experience with Webstaurant, along with a ServSafe certification, has given Janine a unique lens to identify the complex problems and solutions our core customers and readers face.

Janine spends her days writing informational blogs, articles, and guides to help business owners answer any burning questions and curiosities they may have about the foodservice industry, such as anything from how to start an acai business to how many shots are in a bottle. When she is not writing, she is editing drafts for other writers on the team for quality assurance and helping them grow their skills. Janine is proud to be a part of a team of strong writers who strive to publish the best resources to help our readers each and every day. Outside of work, Janine can be found enjoying her love of fantasy, either attending the renaissance faire or playing D&D with her friends and family.

Jason Kurtz – Content Coordinator

Jason Kurtz

Expertise: Technical Writing, Product Review, Search Engine Optimization

Favorite Foodservice Resource: How to Make a Pumpkin Keg

Favorite WebstaurantStore Item: Philadelphia Flyers Wall Clock

Jason began at WebstaurantStore as an Longform Content Writer before transitioning into his current role as a Long Form Content Coordinator. Before that, he spent his early years working countless summer jobs and gaining valuable experience in the service industry. He holds a degree in Digital Communications from Millersville University and spent his college years writing about sports, tourism, and anything in between.

As a Content Writer, Jason got his start writing about all types of foodservice topics, ranging from quick and fun seasonal blogs to in-depth startup articles. Eventually, he found his niche writing about technical topics, such as troubleshooting guides, buying guides, and product reviews. Today, he balances his time between coordinating SEO-driven projects and contributing to the site's ever-expanding selection of blogs, articles, and guides.

In his free time, Jason enjoys unplugging from his computer and enjoying the outdoors, whether that's on a run, in the park, or at whatever minor league baseball game he can find. When he's not doing that, you can find him trying out a new restaurant or on his back porch grilling for a crowd.

Kayla Nelson – Content Writer

Kayla Nelson

Expertise: Content Writing, Content Strategy, Product Review

Favorite Foodservice Resource: How to Cut Steak Against the Grain

Favorite WebstaurantStore Item: Tenzo Organic Ceremonial Matcha Green Tea Powder

With over 8 years of experience in the foodservice distribution industry, Kayla brings a unique blend of technical knowledge and culinary passion to every piece she writes. Her career with WebstaurantStore began with writing product descriptions, marketing everything from commercial refrigerators to everyday forks, before focusing on consumables and diving deep into the world of ingredients, menu trends, and operator needs. After 4 years of product marketing, she transitioned to developing practical, engaging content for foodservice professionals and curious readers alike. From demystifying complex kitchen operations to perfecting the art of steak (she swears by sous vide followed by a hot sear), Kayla thrives on making foodservice topics clear, compelling, and approachable.

Kayla holds a BA in History with a concentration in International Studies, a background that sharpened her research skills and fueled a fascination with global cultures and cuisines. Certified in both CFSP and ServSafe, Kayla blends industry expertise with a writer’s curiosity to create practical, engaging content for foodservice professionals and curious readers alike.

Based in Texas, she's always on the hunt for the best barbecue – and has strong opinions about what makes it great. Kayla’s passion for food began in her grandmother’s kitchen, standing on a creaky wooden chair, learning to cook from a matriarch who grew her own food and raised 10 children – three of whom became professional chefs. Today, she carries on that tradition with her own toddler, sharing the joy (and the mess) of cooking while keeping family recipes and memories alive. Whether it’s behind a keyboard or a cutting board, Kayla is always hungry to learn and share what she finds with fellow food lovers.

Corrinn McCauley – Content Writer

Corrinn McCauley

Expertise: Content Writing, Content Editing, Recipe Development, Video Strategy

Favorite Foodservice Resource: Prioritizing Mental Health in the Restaurant Industry

Favorite WebstaurantStore Item: Acopa 12 oz. Fish Glass

Growing up in an Italian-American family, food was the anchoring point of every gathering – building connections around a table and sparking joy through flavor. A Northern California native with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Belhaven University, earned in the hotbed of Southern Hospitality (Mississippi), Corrinn made pit stops in New Orleans and Nashville to work at marketing agencies before landing in sunny Tampa, Florida, where she feels blessed to be a paid food writer at WebstaurantStore.

Having worked at a bridal magazine, she saw the opportunities and challenges caterers, chefs, and bakers faced, and always gravitated towards working with the food vendors (they passed out the best samples after all). As a foodie, she had a lot of cooking knowledge, but she has built a tremendous amount of industry insight in her 5+ years at Webstaurant. From earning a ServSafe certification to Webstaurant’s numerous vendor training courses to attending the National Restaurant Show, she knows the back end of how the industry works and where it is headed. She enjoys working on a team of dedicated writers to answer operators’ pressing questions, helping them start and upgrade their businesses, and introduce them to emerging trends.

Corrinn loves taking the knowledge she gains at work and testing out new ingredients and recipes at home. When she isn’t collecting shells on the beach, she’s cooking for friends and prattling off more information about the ingredients than they care to know. After years of constant research, her friends joke that her tagline is “fun fact”. This doesn’t seem to stop them from piling around her table and going back for seconds.
