This is a very nice basic 12" Sharpening Stone. Great for residential uses. It is not the fanciest, but you get more than what you pay for.

I wasn't expecting too much from this sharpening stone since it's so cheap, but it's fine as a basic sharpening stone. Will help keep your knives sharp if you don't have any other sharpening stones.

It is high quality and serves me well. It is very convenient and easy to use. I am pleased that I bought it. It definitely lasts for a long time!

I'd like to address 2 common complaints in reviews about this Sharpening Stone 1. Its a rough grit stone. That is correct, it is a 120 and 240 Combo stone. This is not for daily/weekly/monthly use, but for knives who need some serious work as it will remove a lot of metal. 2. Chipping or Broken stone - This is not really the fault of the product but due to shipping conditions. Webstaurantstore staff are very quick to resolve these types of issues and they are great for reaching out to customers post review. The price is really good for a stone. I don't think I've ever seen it priced so low anywhere else. The company that makes it is Update International. They make commercial products that are fairly decent to outstanding. My only gripe, is that if it were not for the description there is no way of knowing besides feel (they both feel the same to me) what the grit is. To combat this, I used a pencil to write the grit on the sides of the stone. Pencil markings will stay on for a long time when submerged in water. An alternative is using a lacquer or similar paint to write the grit.

Great and convenient tool to have on hand to sharpen your tools. It does take some doing to get the right method but otherwise a great buy

Keep your knives sharp with this simple tool. Sharp knives are important in achieving perfect cuts everytime. This is a cheap alternative to more expensive ones.

This 12 inch sharpening stone is pretty decent a pretty good price it does it stop you definitely need to get some of the mineral stone to use on it to make a better sharpen on your knife

This is the perfect stone for getting out big chips in my knives and taking plenty of metal quickly. The size is perfect for making sharpening a quick and easy task.

This is a great sharpening stone at a great price. Prior to this, we used a budget grade diamond sharpening stone which left our blades looking rough and removed far too much material when we used it. Switching to this wet stone system has been a long time coming. This sharpener is quite large which gives you plenty of surface area to work with and, once you get he hang of it, leaves knives extremely sharp without removing too much material.

cant beat the price, it worked well to sharpen. Definitely need some practice to get the right angle down, but it definitely shreds the side to give a nice new edge

12" Sharpening Stone every good cook has a draw case box bucket of knives who have long gone dull... If you love those old knives and want to bring them out of retirement then buy this

This is a high quality commercial grade sharpening stone which will last for years even in a commercial setting. Perfect size for handling. Incredible value for the price.

This 12" sharpening stone is a little bulkier than I anticipated but has sharpened our dull knives rather well and is well worth the price.
Thomas B. from Patricia S Posted on 06/15/2016
This is a super rough stone. I would not subject any of my blades to this, maybe my lawnmower. Skip this stone go for something better unless you're chopping wood.
Michael P. from Mike's Mindful Plate Posted on 05/13/2016
Well, one of these arrived broken, but they did replace it no problem. Honestly, it is just a little too bulky to be convenient for me and I might not have the skills to use it correctly. it is a great price, so if you have the skills and storage space it would probably be a good buy.
Brenna P. from B-Sting's Snacks & Things Posted on 04/13/2016
Thanks for the review, Brenna! We were happy to help in making sure you received a replacement for the one that arrived broken. We hope the sharpening stone works well for you in the future!

These stones keep your knives sharp. With a steel and a stone, you can keep your knives going for a long time. The stones wear out so a good price is a plus!

A good basic sharpening stone. 120/240 grit which is rather low but this stone will do a good job getting your knives back into basic condition. A higher grit 1000+ stone can do the final steps better but would take much longer to get the blade to the sharp.
Alex R. Posted on 03/06/2016
For the price, you get a quality stone. Hard to beat. Gotta learn to use it and be sure to soak it before use. Brings life to old knives. Good on double amd single edge knives.
Peter K. Posted on 12/02/2015
Good heavy sharping stone, the only thing that would of made this a outstanding buy would be a sample oil to come with it. I will have to buy new oil.
Rachel Y. Posted on 10/22/2015
Great for larger knives such as scimitars, 12" and longer chef knives, slicing knives, etc. where you have a longer blade that needs more stone contact than a regular size one can give. Different grits on each side. Produces great edge.
