What's the difference between a semi-flexible and a semi-stiff boning knife?
These terms are often used interchangeably and refer to the same type of knife. Semi-flexible or semi-stiff blades allow for enough flexibility for close, precise cuts, but are not as well-suited for shaping or seaming as a fully-flexible knife.
Can this knife be washed in a dishwasher?
No, hand washing with soapy water and sanitizer solution is always recommended. When placed in a dishwasher, the process will often rust and cause damage to the edges of the blade.

Place the blade of the knife on the flat surface with the edge facing away from your body. Flip the knife and wipe the other side of the blade as well. Dip the knife in the solution and then take it out. Using a cloth soaked in the hot water solution, scrub the blade of the knife. Do it very lightly to prevent scratches. After you have removed visible dirt from the blade of your knife, clean the handle with soapy water. Rinse the knife thoroughly under running water. Dry the knife by using a clean dishtowel. Wash kitchen knives immediately after using them so that the food does not dry on their blades. It is never accepted to place your knife in a drawer without a plastic guard. Make sure that knives lying on flat surfaces are never covered with towels or napkins. After handling a knife, lay it down in a clear area with the blade and point away from the body and away from the edge of the table or cutting area. A knife guard is a rigged plastic sleeve that fully encloses the blade. A glass knife block sits on the counter offering convenient access when working and when safely putting knives away. A magnetic bar is a wall mounted magnetic bar design to hold knives firmly in place.

    We use the color coded handles to organize our kitchen and keep certain colors in specific sections. Great quality for the price for the average kitchen use.
    I use this a couple times a week to trim the "boneless, skinless" chicken breasts. Good to have the color coordination system so I know which knife to grab.
    This is an excellent knife. It fits comfortably in your hand and it comes sharp. It is unbelievable how long it stays sharp! It debones meat efficiently with no waste. It is dishwasher safe and great for color coding in commercial kitchens.
    I really like the yellow color handle and it's comfortable to you it's nice and flexible which I really like when I'm cleaning 40 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast
    The boning knife is one of the three basic kitchen knives, and the Mercer Millenia 6 inch semi flexible narrow is one of the best I have used, regardless of price. The knife as received is razor sharp from tip to heel by the paper test and ready to use. The workmanship and materials appear to be first rate, should be durable in a commercial environment, and with proper care should last several generations in residential use. From my limited use (just received it), the blade geometry and flex are ideal for boning/parting chickens. The NSF molded handle is very comfortable (I have small hands and wear a mens' small glove) and should be comfortable for most users. Unless your knives are always kept in a block or on a magnetic holder, be sure and buy the blade guard, and never cut against metal, tile, stone or glass. Cutting mats are cheap and sanitary.     Great balance and grip, the blade is flexible to bone but still stiff enough for other cutting choirs. The blade holds its edge and sharpens easily.
    This is one of favorites from the mercer millenia series. Great design and thin enough for any boning project. This is superior to many in its field.
    This Mercer boning knife is so good. I've had my a while and it works great. Very well made. There are others that are less but i am so happy with this one.
