While I have used other Mercer Knife bars in the past, this model does not hold larger knives, they slide off. I tried 2 different bars of this same model and neither held larger chef, bread or slicing knives. Plus, Mercer's customer service took a couple of weeks to respond to the defect.

Simple design, all metal and clean...HOWEVER...the magnets were adequate to hold knives but can easily be bumped and fall off. I've used other knife holders where the magnets are significantly stronger. I really wanted this to work as the design caught my attention...The weak magnet does not suit well to hold knives securely.

Easy to install with just two screws needed. The hooks are handy for hanging other items. My only complaint is that the magnets could be just a little stronger, sometimes a knife with slip off if hung handle-down. If you put the handle on the top it works great. I would purchase again, you cant beat it for the price.
