We don't have a bread slicer and we cut a lot of bread. This knife has a thin blade, and the serrations are really sharp, so it makes cutting crusty bread less of a chore. The thinness of the blade means it's not the most durable knife out there, but sharpening a serrated blade on a more durable knife isn't easy either. This knife is the right choice for the job and the price.
