This insect trap provides exceptional bug-killing protection over an average 1,250 sq. ft. area and comes with 2 powerful 15W black light ultraviolet bulbs that are safe for humans and pets. The bulbs attract insects that are zapped on electrically charged, high-voltage metal grids that won't clog and are protected by an outer mesh. The pests are collected in an easy-glide tray that pulls out for quick emptying and highly effective, sanitary insect control.
This unit comes with a NEMA 5-15P plug.

Each bulb contains a chemical coating that maximizes the UV light it transmits. To maintain the bulb's coating and the trap's optimum effectiveness, replace bulbs every 9-12 months, ideally at the beginning of spring. For best results, do not place this bug zapper in an area with bright lighting, as other light sources will draw the bugs' attention.

It zaps flies but most of them are still alive when they drop into the tray. One could even fly again after it got zapped. Even some fruit flies are still flopping around after getting zapped. I prefer dead flies.
