Details

Expand your selection of specialty coffees with this Steady State Roasting Daybreak whole bean coffee blend! Daybreak is comprised of carefully selected coffee varietals that are sourced from Brazil and Colombia. This blend includes natural and washed process beans; the washed beans deliver unadulterated coffee flavor while the natural process beans lend some fruity complexity to the blend. After processing, Steady State roasts the green coffee beans to a light roast level - however, this remarkable light roast has the heavy body and bitter chocolate notes that are typically associated with dark roast coffee. The final result is rich coffee with notes of chocolate, caramel, and plum, with a balanced acidity and a lingering finish that coats the palate. Daybreak's deep, rich profile makes it an instant classic that your customers will reach for every morning.

This coffee's whole bean format allows for flexible preparation options to suit the needs of your establishment. For a French press preparation that brings out the deep complexity of this roast, grind the coffee coarsely and pour just enough water 30 seconds off a boil (205 degrees Fahrenheit) over the beans to saturate all the grounds. Allow this slurry to bloom for 30 to 40 seconds before filling your French press all the way and allowing it to steep for 3 to 4 minutes before plunging. For a perfect pour-over, grind the beans to a medium-fine consistency, then simply pour water 30 seconds off a boil (205 degrees Fahrenheit) over them. You can prepare this coffee in commercial brewers to create large batches, or offer it in an individual pour-over coffee maker for an individualized artisan experience. To truly highlight Daybreak's chocolate notes, grind this coffee to an extra-fine consistency and use it to pull espresso shots or to make AeroPress coffee. No matter how you choose to prepare it, Daybreak is ideal for everyday drinking and elevated coffee ceremonies alike!
