You’ll find many uses for kitchen tongs beyond just serving salads. For a commercial kitchen that prepares all types of foods, tongs can be used for flipping steaks, tossing pastas, and decorating plates. A great benefit of using cooking tongs is that you can grab onto foods and still keep your fingers away from a hot flame.

Tongs make it easy to serve foods that would be awkward to handle with a serving spoon, like bagels, ice cubes, or lemon wedges. The tongs grip foods tightly and keep your hands clear to prevent cross-contamination. Salad tongs and pasta tongs help you portion out servings of spaghetti or salads that would be hard to grip with regular serving utensils.
