Can this knife be washed in a dishwasher?
No, hand washing with soapy water and sanitizer solution is always recommended. When placed in a dishwasher, the process will often rust and cause damage to the edges of the blade.
What is VG-10?
VG-10 is incredibly durable, high end stainless steel with a high carbon content that is made in Japan. This steel features 1% carbon content; which is double the carbon content of some other forged steel blades. VG-10 is commonly referred to as a "super-steel" material because of its overall strength and incredible edge sharpness. Additionally, it's about half the weight of German steel.

While this isn't a super high end, imported Japanese knife, for what it's worth, this is a very well made knife. It comes sharp and it stays sharp. It's easy to clean and looks great. It's my daily knife now.

This is a bit pricey but well worth the price. It is very durable and sturdy. The knife does not wobble will trying to use it and the blade stays sharp. It will last a long time. I would recommend it.

This is the first time I have used very hard steel cutlery in the kitchen, and I now think that all those years using European softer steel -often with heavier blades- was a mistake. I do miss the flared butt for comfort against the middle finger during use, and I am having to learn new techniques. But overall, the far superior edge holding power and Japanese bevel is making vegetable prep easier.

This knife comes very sharp! The blade is very firm and it cuts easily. It is well made and dishwasher safe. This is an excellent addition to any restaurant.

Most of th knifes I get I have to sharpen them like in a month but this one I didn't have to sharpen it at all because it is really sharp.
