It's pre-seasoned! You don't have to prep the skillet before using like some other uncoated skillets. It's heavy. It's great. Love it. Pairs really well with open flame.

Every house should have one of these. From hash browns to cornbread, the lodge cast iron skillet is an absolute classic.the pre seasoning helps make this a great pan out of the box
This is a pan that will be handed down for years. They are pre-seasoned beautifully and ready to use out of the packaging. Can’t beat the Lodge quality.
I use this all the time for everything from savory to sweet. It's really become a go-to pan in the kitchen. I'd highly recommend it!

Lodge products are top notch and this 12" pan is no exception. Built like a tank, very well pre-seasoned and fries like a dream. I use it several times a week, and do most of my frying in this pan.
The Lodge 12" skillet is the perfect size for your home or work kitchen. It is pre seasoned to be used right out of the box. Will last a long time if you take care of it. Highly recommend!
Great quality, price, and it's made in America! Great piece of cookware, everyone should own one. My only suggested improvement would be a slightly longer handle. The handle works but when you are lifting a heavy pan with food inside, it can get heavy and a bit unwieldy.
The Lodge 12” Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet is heavy weight and well worth the price. It comes pre-seasoned and it can be used for camping. It is made to last and will last for years to come.
This 12" pre seasoned cast iron skillet made by Lodge is my favorite pan. It comes seasoned so you don't have to do the work, is a healthier version, is easily cleaned, and holds up well.
We cant get enough of our beautiful Lodge cast iron cookware. This 12" skillet is used daily for everything from frying chicken, to sauteeing to roasting vegetables. We often will heat it up on the stove until it gets too hot to touch and then add a little butter and sear off our sous vide steaks. A beautiful piece of 17th century technology. Use it on any type of stove, in the oven or directly over an open campfire. You simply cant damage one. Cast iron cookware is also a good way to impart dietary iron for those with iron deficiencies. Learn how to properly season and clean your pan, and your great grand children will still be using this when you're gone. We often go straight from oven to table because they do a great job of keeping foods warm during service.
I bought this skillet with the intentions of personal use. This site was the cheapest I could find this brand and I love the quality! I recommended this site to my brother for his restaurant and he uses it for most all his needs.
This pan holds up to the Lodge quality. The pre seasoned finish is excellent and the size of the pan is perfect for sautéing a large amount of sausages for breakfast or making skillet corn bread, I have the L8 as well and love them both.
Lodge products are always great quality. I love pretty much everything they make. Even with the pre-seasoned pans you need to watch out for rust and treat them right, but other than that they take a beating and will last basically forever.
This is a great quality cast iron skillet. It comes seasoned but I also seasoned it prior to use. It allows you to get a great crust on steaks which is my primary use.
Great pan from a trusted and quality brand. Super heavy, as you would expect with cast iron, but thats what makes it work so well! It retains heat and gives a great sear. The helper handle is a wrist-saver! Highly recommend for home and professional use!
We use our lodge skillet for everything. Already pre-seasoned so you don't have to worry about that. Nothing compares to food cooked in cast iron. Mmmmm. The price is right on, and it will last FOREVER.
Nice larger sizes cast iron skillet. Pre seasoned and quality made. These works perfectly for searing dishes and then transferring to the oven. Great price for a great product!
What a great skillet. Use this almost every day for making many different meals. Very well seasoned and works very well as a nonstick pan if you keep it seasoned.
This particular skillet is the reason why I fell in love with cast iron cookware. The love affair started off slow as there was a significant learning curve. Due to this cast iron skillet I’ve decided over time to get rid of any cookware that is not cast iron.
I use my Lodge 12" skillet all the time, it is one of my favorite pieces. It can go from the stove top to the oven, just be sure to remove your handle cover if you have one...learned that one the hard way ??
This is an bsolutely great skillet!!! Quality is great and pricing was very fair. Skillet will be used a lot and will last for a long time.
As you'd expect this is a big, sturdy skillet. It's also as heavy as you'd expect, but it's still able to be maneuvered with one hand as long as you don't have too much food in there. in the case of the later the helper handle is a nice feature that makes it easy to lift and move around without trying to fit both of your hands on the same handle. The pre-seasoning that Lodge puts on the iron seems to work well and it gives you a decent, low-stick surface right out of the box. With continued use I expect that it will become even more stick resistant.
Great price for a quality cast iron skillet. Even though it's a modern version, it's got plenty of heft. I love that it can go from stove top to oven, and I've even used it on the grill. A true workhorse of the kitchen!
I use this skillet for almost everything. Definitely for steaks and baked mac & cheese. I appreciate the flexibility of the lodge skillets, whether on the stove top, in the oven or on the grill they deliver every time.
Cast iron cookware still has a place in the modern kitchen. Some people thing that stainless steel is the best, but for frying low acid food nothing beats cast iron. They heat evenly, retain their heat and recover their heat after food is added. After use and proper cleaning their surface with be as good as a non-stick coated pan. Try pan-searing a steak in a cheap pan, it will burn and stick. then try it in a cast iron pan. You will be happy.
This skillet is a great balance between size and weight. I wasn't thrilled with the rough finish from the sand casting (otherwise 5 stars) so I smoothed it by using a flap disc in an angle grinder and an orbital sander with a few different grits of sandpaper. After reseasoning and using it for a few months this skillet is easy to clean with just a paper towel - no more shredded papertowels. Its my first jump into cast iron and this skillet does it all from bacon and eggs to a 7lb deep dish pizza in the oven. If you are going to use it on a glass top I'd recommend smoothing the bottom so it doesn't scratch. I've since bought about 10 other lodge pieces, great quality, just wish they were smooth out of the box.
Nice, heavy cast iron skillet, although it is definitely lighter than older ones. Pre-seasoning is not that bad, after one wash I was comfortable cooking with it. Reasonably non-stick upon first use. Happy with the product, great price from Websteraunt Store.
What drew me to this cast-iron skillet was making restaurant-quality steaks at home. This IS the skillet for that! Rather than spend $40 for a steak, go to your local butcher and get a good quality rib-eye. Toss the pan in the oven to get it smoking hot, set the skillet over a hot stove and sear both sides of the steak for 90 seconds per side. If you want it cooked longer, return pan to hot over and cook for a few minutes depending on preferred doneness. Delicious!
I use this pan on my grill outside when I want to sautée veggies, cook fish, or even pancakes. Works perfectly right on top of the grates.
