We purchased this fryer to replace an 8 year old Advantco with similar specs, chose this one since it has an open pot, hoping to make cleaning easier. As the other reviews stated, ours also shipped with a FAULTY GAS VALVE. It did not work for several weeks as we waited on repair, first they tried the thermopile, then the high limit, and eventually the gas valve was replaced. It now works, however....it is a very VERY LOUD unit. Kitchens are already loud enough , this unit when firing adds another 90db to the mix. Should have just bought another Advantco and saved some money.
