Maintain the gaskets on your Continental refrigerator and freezers with these simple instructions! By inspecting the gaskets for wear and tear, you can ensure there are no gaps or sealing issues on your units.

Today, we're going to discuss the importance and the procedure of cleaning your condenser coil on your Continental refrigerator or freezer. This is important for many reasons. Firstly, it will conserve energy, cut down on your service costs, and also add life to your compressor. It's always important to disconnect the power to your cabinet before doing any preventive maintenance. The first thing you want to determine is where your condensing unit is located. It could be located on the top of the unit, at the rear of the unit, or on the front. Now what you want to do is located the condensing unit and remove the front grill. Once the grill is removed, you'll see the condensing unit and the condenser coil looks like the radiator in your car and inspect for any dirt or paper. Using a stiff nylon brush, remove any debris in a downward motion and always go in the direction of the fins. Depending on the amount of dirt, you may also want to use a shop-vac and you can also pass a flashlight into the fins to see if you can see through or have any additional blockage. In this segment, we're going to discuss the care and the steps needed to replace the door gasket on your Continental refrigerator or freezer. It's very important to maintain your gaskets. On a regular basis, they should be inspected for any wear or tear on the sides or on the top. If needed to clean your gasket, use mild soap with warm water and a soft-bristle brush. If a door gasket is required, contact the factory or your supplier with the model and serial number of the case and that'll determine exactly the part number and the gasket needed. No tools are required to replace the gasket. Grasp the top corner or the door gasket and pull straight out of the retainer. Once the gasket is fully removed from the door, take the new gasket and line up the dart on the gasket with the retainer. Pushing with your thumb, making sure that the dart is in line. Once the gasket is in place, close the door, inspect for any gaps or sealing issues, and that's all that is needed to replace a door gasket on your Continental refrigerator or freezer.     Ordered this as an alternative to having to haul in ice to events for drinks. The concept is still solid while the installation was a bit rocky. The order requested that I choose a side for the condenser. I must have chosen the wrong side as the manufacturer communicated through webstaurant that they cannot change the condenser location. This was caused an unnecessary delay but not a huge issue. Setup proved a bit more challenging as when it was plugged in it would not cool at all. I almost thought it was defective and initiated contact for resolution. After some thought I opened the compressor access panel and saw that there is a secondary plug that the compressor is supposed to go to. The plug was hanging versus being plugged in. After fixing this issue, the unit started cooling within about 5-10 minutes. It went from 80 degrees down to 40 in about 30 minutes. While it wasn't completely loaded, I was very impressed. After a while longer, it was down to 34. With my confidence restored and the product running like a top, we've filled it to capacity for our next event and it is cooling everything down as expected. If we rotate stock as we use it, then we should be able to keep a ton of product cold and ready to go out. Albeit a rocky start, I have no doubt that it was the right unit with the right space and alternative to hauling in ice over and over. I didn't like the fact that I had to engage customer service, but they we at least supportive on the issue. Good save. Read Less Read More

    While I'm sure the Continental will serve us well, the delivery policies of Webrestaurantstore.com are foolish. It is simply common sense that something the size of a refrigerator would require a call from the carrier before delivery. I am in the middle of opening a new location and EVERY other company I am working with calls before they deliver. Table tops, table bases, lumber, windows, chairs, stools; all came with at least a call and usually an email. When I received an email politely letting me know that the carrier attempted to deliver the refrigerator with no notice and that I would be charged an extra fee, I gave the folks at Webrestaurantstore a shout. Turns out that you must SELECT to get a call before they just decide to roll up with a 300lb piece of equipment. The reason, as it was explained to me by the representative, seems to be that they are SO busy and many of their customers are SO big that they just can't be bothered to call without a request. Furthermore, this time I MIGHT get a call for the redelivery, but I also might not. I have to wait to see. I also have to wait for them to send me the new bill for the fee. A disgruntled customer who made a pretty understandable oversight does not get much quarter with these guys. One can only hope the management stops by my restaurant some time so I can let them know that when their food comes out wrong they will be charged extra for sending it back to the kitchen, and that we're just TOO busy with TOO many big fish for us to care about their dining experience.
