Does Beverage-Air warrant this item for use in a food truck?
This item is covered under Beverage-Air's warranty contingent upon the unit being kept in a controlled climate. This means that the interior of the food truck may not be susceptible to extreme high or low temperatures. If warranty service is required, the truck must be able to sit stationary for 24-48 hours to allow for a technician to service the equipment.
I haven’t heard of R-290, R-600a, R-513a, or R-448A refrigerant before. What is it?
R-290 (also known as high purity propane or CARE 40) and R-600a (also known as refrigerant grade Isobutane or CARE 10) are hydrocarbon refrigerants. R513a (also known as Opteon XP10) and R-448A (also known as Solstice N40) are HFO (hydrofluoroolefin) refrigerants. They are being used by some manufacturers in response to the EPA’s Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Program.
What does the “H” or “HC” mean in the newer Beverage-Air model numbers?
This is a representation that the unit is using a “Hydrocarbon” refrigerant. This would include both R290 and R600a refrigerants. They are being used as an eco-friendly refrigerant by Beverage-Air in response to the EPA’s Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Program. Beverage-Air SF34HC-S-02 Details
A perfect addition to any bar, this Beverage-Air SF34HC-SS 34" stainless steel shallow well bottle cooler makes it easy to serve cool, refreshing beverages in a bottle. Just slide open the stainless steel lid, and use the 2 epoxy-coated wire dividers to organize bottled beverages. The lid glides open easily to help keep staff moving, and the dividers adjust to accommodate the bottles you want to chill.
To give staff the space needed to prepare beverages, the cooler features a stainless steel counter with a built-in edge stop. This counter top provides just the space needed to mix up a drink when other work surfaces are unavailable. Plus, the edge stop helps prevent bottles, glasses, and ingredients from falling off the back. If just grabbing a bottle from the cooler and serving, staff can take advantage of the integrated bottle opener and cap catcher for ultra-fast service. Because of the cooler's compact size and shallow well, it's easy to equip virtually any bar with the convenience of pre-chilled beverages.
Beverage-Air is built for commercial use, providing tough, long-lasting refrigeration; this cooler is no exception. It features a stainless steel exterior and interior, which won't corrode with the inevitable spill. It also holds temperatures between 36 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit, using eco-friendly R290 refrigerant and a 1/10 hp refrigeration system. This specialized refrigerant has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of 0 and a global warming potential (GWP) of 3, making it an environmentally-responsible choice. To streamline maintenance and ensure quality performance, an adaptive defrost feature works to keep ice off the coils. A 115V electrical connection is required for operation.
