The CSL door view manager is fast and easy to install. Just watch. In case you didn't get all that, let's break it down step by step. You will need the following tools to install your new door view manager. A Phillips head screwdriver, a small level, 7/8" open end wrench, a CSL provided custom 1/2" to 3/4" drill bit, and a drill. In order to install the door view manager, a 3/4" hole is required in the door. After removing the existing viewer, you may find the need to increase the hole size to 3/4" inch. With the custom drill bit, using the existing hole as a guide, drill a 3/4" hole, taking care to keep the newly sized hole perpendicular to the surface of the door along its entire length. Once the 3/4" hole is created, insert the door view managers outside front side assembly shaft into the hole from the outside of the door. Then, on the inside of the door, position the back stationary plate over the protruding shaft. Notice that the back stationary plate and front stationary plate's shafts are keyed to properly align and seat the two components. The next step is to securely position the front assembly using the provided hex locking nut. Tighten the hex nut until it is finger tight. Once in position, place a small level on the flat area at the top of the back stationary plate to be sure the front and back assemblies are level. Check the front assembly to make sure the message window is in the 12 o'clock position. If desirable, fix the plate permanently in place with a number 6 screw through the special hole in the back stationary plate. tighten the hex nut until the front cover is flush against the door surface, being careful to avoid over tightening the hex nut. Now, slide the inside back message wheel into the protruding shaft, and rotate the back message wheel, allowing it to interconnect with the front message wheel shaft. Finally, place the back cover over the back message wheel with the window at the 10 to 11 o'clock position. Then, rotate clockwise until the cover snaps into place. Using the thumb indentations, rotate the message wheel assuring ease of movement. If the message wheels do not turn easy, the hex nut is too tight. If you ever wish to remove the back cover, insert a 5/64" hex Allen key into the hole located at the 6 o'clock position. Push upward while rotating the cover counter clock wise. That's it! Just a few simple steps and your new CSL door view manager is easily installed.
