The automatic thaw cycle is used to thaw frozen food products over night. It is important to remember that a thaw probe must be used with this cycle. To insert the thaw probe into the product, use the supplied drill and surgical bit. With the display reading off, press the on / off button once, then press up or down to access the automatic thaw cycle. Press enter to select the cycle. If thaw cycle was set to no in initial programming, the display will show auto thaw not available. If the optional thaw probe was purchased, refer to the initial programming chapter in this series to make the necessary changes. If recipes was set to yes in initial programming, the display will show the recipes screen. Press up or down to select the desired recipe, then press enter. Once a recipe is selected, the display will show auto thaw. If thaw cycle was set to yes in initial programming, the display will show auto thaw. Press start / stop to start the cycle. During the cycle, the display will show alternating screens monitoring the time, air, and thaw probe temperatures. When the food temperature has reached the target temperature set in cycle's programming, which is a default of 38 degrees Fahrenheit, the unit will automatically switch to the holding mode and a beep will sound for 5 seconds. To stop the automatic thaw cycle before it is complete, press the start / stop button. The default parameters for the automatic thaw cycle are preset at the factory. To adjust these settings for an individual cycle, you may access cycle's programming by pressing the start / stop button for a few seconds until a beep sounds. Press up or down to select English, Spanish, or French, then press enter. Enter the password, then press enter. The default password is select, up, down. If you do not wish to change the password, press enter. The letters PR, which signify programming mode, will appear in the upper left hand corner of the display. Press up or down to select cycle's programming, then press enter. The letters CP, which signify cycle's programming, will appear in the upper right hand corner of the display. Press up or down to select auto thaw, then press enter. If no was selected for the thaw cycle in initial programming, the display will show auto thaw not available. The default setting for the target food temperature is 38 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the desired food temperature, as measured by the thaw probe, which automatically ends the thaw process and transitions into the holding mode. To increase this temperature press up, or to decrease, press down, then press enter. The default setting for the maximum air temperature is 50 degrees Fahrenheit. To increase this temperature, press up, or to decrease, press down, then press enter. The default setting for the minimum air temperature is 42 degrees Fahrenheit. To increase this temperature, press up, or to decrease, press down, then press enter. There should always be a minimum of 7 degrees difference between the hold low and hold high temperature settings. The default setting for the hold high temperature is 42 degrees Fahrenheit. To increase this temperature, press up, or to decrease, press down, then press enter. The default setting for the hold low temperature is 35 degrees Fahrenheit. To increase this temperature, press up, or to decrease, press down, then press enter. The air temperature will be held between the hold low and hold high temperatures at the completion of the cycle. The display will then show the auto thaw screen. To move to another cycle to program, press up or down, or to end programming, press the on / off button.
