To ensure the proper use and extend the life of your Narvon slushy machine, daily cleaning is a vital task. Luckily, these machines can be completely cleaned in a few easy steps! To begin with, make sure that the machine is unplugged and turned off. Push the tap lever down and pour out any liquid in the machine until it is empty. Place your hand below the dispensing outlet, and remove the lever pin to disconnect the tap valve, spring, and tap lever. Then, take off the lid, and remove both of the front fixing knobs from the bowl by unscrewing them counter-clockwise. Remove the bowl from its seat, and gently pull on the spiral blades to remove them from the evaporators. Carefully pull on the spiral blade gasket and bowl gasket to remove them. Lift the drip tray up, and pull it away from the machine to release the hooks. Wash it in warm water and dry, then reinsert the hooks into their holes and push down. Once you have the pieces removed, fill a basin with lukewarm water and neutral detergent. Wash all the components, except for the lid, in the basin using a soft cloth. Then, rinse the parts with clean water, and dry them with a soft cloth. Carefully clean the lid without dipping it in water, as this may damage electrical components. If this is the machine’s initial use or it has not been used for an extended period of time, it must be sanitized. Use a soft cloth to wipe down all of the components with a sanitizing solution, then rinse the parts with clean water. It’s also important to clean the condenser, which should be dusted off with a soft, dry brush once per month. Now its time to carefully put the machine back together, and as you do, it is important to remember to regularly lubricate the machine with the included lubricant or a food-safe replacement. This lubricant will extend the life of the machine and prevent leaking. To lubricate, first install the bowl gasket and lubricate the upper part. Then lubricate the cylinder around the shaft outlet. Lubricate both the inside and the outside of the spiral blade gasket before putting it into position. Lubricate the external part of the head of the blade. Once done, slide the bowl into place. When reinstalling the tap, its important to lubricate the tap valve before sliding into position. Once you've reinstalled the tap, your machine is now clean and ready to make slushies!
