Like to use this for my deep frying in the wok; I like the convenience of being able to lift more food out of the hot oil versus using tongs and having to pick up each one individually.

This skimmer is well crafted and sturdy. The holes are small enough to catch what you need but not so small that they become impossible to clean. Love it!

Great for deep frying or boiling!!! I like the fact that it is steel wire and not tin. Had a few of them before that were made of tin wire and they just bent the first time we used them. The size is perfect for making large batch of donuts hole blanching vegetables.

I received my 6" handled course skimmer and I must say I was very surprised with the quality of the product. I expected light weight metal for basket and was delighted when I felt the thickness of the metal used . The handle is of great quality bamboo as well and a great length . I will use it when making homemade French fries , Apple fritters , zeppoles or and recipe that requires the skimmer... I will also be ordering the 4" skimmer for smaller pots ..

I blanch a lot of vegetables and this tool is so great on picking up those veggies from the boiling water, or picking up item from the fryer. IT's great for home kitchen, but a little too small for my catering operation. Should have gotten the 8" blade

This 6 ounce bamboo handled course skimmer is fantastic it’s great for pulling your gnocchi’s out of the fryer or your dumplings out with this nice 6 inch coarse bamboo handled scammer

Pretty standard bamboo skimmer, really nice tool to have in the kitchen for frying or blanching different foods. Pretty inexpensive too, this won't hurt your pockets if you have to have multiple in your kitchen.

When deep frying without a frying basket, a spider is crucial! It allows you to take many items out of the oil while leaving the oil behind!

6 inch coarse bamboo skimmer is a perfect size for cooking at home. It is better than a large slotted spoon. I have also been washing it in the dishwasher and it is still looking great.

The 6" bamboo-handled skimmer has a long sturdy handle and the basket is well attached. I recommend you hand wash this only. I would purchase this again.

The bamboo handle skimmer is one of my favorites tools in the kitchen, so gentle on food and holds up a large amount of use.
Jeff C. Posted on 05/26/2017
These things are so useful for deep frying and blanching because the handles never get hot. I've used them for years and they last forever. You just have to be careful with rust if you don't take care of them properly.

Great tool when you are frying or using it to fish out your bones when making broth. the length of the handle is good, though I would like a bigger net.

We have not used this 6 inch Bamboo-Handled Coarse Skimmer very much. But the times we have used the skimmer it has worked very well.
Sarnen S. Posted on 09/28/2016
This course skimmer is absolutely essential for basket-less deep frying. The size is perfect for stirring and small scale work, and the wire holds very little deep frying oil to minimize waste. For many items I prefer this over conventional baskets.

Great skimmer and love the wooden handles. I thought that the wooden handles would have been weak but I was wrong. Good surprise. I love it!

I purchased the 6" bamboo handled coarse skimmer. The larger head on this skimmer works great to pick up bigger items without risk of them falling off the scoop.
Evan B. from Jack & Alice LLC. Posted on 03/26/2016
Good skimmer. Used it when frying in a smaller sized pot, but it was still able to get in and under the food to get it out without trouble.
Bruce M. Posted on 02/11/2016
This bamboo skimmer is something that I didn't think I needed. But it is a great tool to have. Being able to fish out fried items easily and safely with this skimmer is a joy. The wooden handle is long enough and well built, and the wire bowl is well constructed. This is a piece that feels really well made.

Very convenient to use due to compact size. The quality is top notch. Should last a long time with proper care. The price is very reasonable.

Skimmer works great, it is just the right size for what I needed. This is also a highly rated top pick from one of my favorite cooking shows.

This is one of my favorite kitchen tools when it comes to frying. I can scoop up an entire dutch oven full of french fries or potato chips in a snap. I am very pleased.

A great tool for removing fried foods from hot oil. Helps prevent splatters that are dangerous and drains foods well keeping them crisp and not soggy.
Thomas W. from TRW Posted on 09/15/2015
I followed the advice of the experts on tv and they were right. These bamboo skimmers really work well. They are light weight, open and really allow foods to drain well. I refuse to use my old slotted skimmer any more as the foods used to stay soggy with it.
Barbara A. Posted on 06/25/2015
If you fry fish, potatoes, veggies, this is for you. I always hated to fry stuff until I got this skimmer. Easier for me to use and not get burned taking food out of fryer.

SUCH A TIME SAVER. I love making homemade gnocchi and pasta and mashed potatoes. in stead of pour the food in a strainer i just scoop it out. i am in love with less mess and dishes.
Rachel L. Posted on 04/13/2015
This bamboo skimmer can be used to remove fried food from hot oil. I used to use tongs (and the food would sometimes slip right out, splashing the oil) i don't have that problem since purchasing this skimmer.
Brenda K. Posted on 01/14/2015
If you have a shallow/narrow cooking pot, then this fits the bill. It's not just good for frying, but can be used for draining dumplings, pasta, etc. I like the simplicity and authenticity of this tool.

I honestly didn't know what I was missing until I got one of these. Also known as a spider, this product is a must-have when deep frying anything. I use this to minimize the amount of residual oil on deep fried food when transferring it to another dish. Really helps reduce the mess, and is a great size for at-home use. Works well to clean up any floating food bits in the oil as well. One thing I've noticed is that, at the netting end, there are some edges and corners that my sponge catches onto. I have to make sure to remove the residual sponge bits that have caught on otherwise they'd melt in the fryer during the next use. Other than that, this skimmer is awesome and I definitely recommend the purchase.

Perfect size for home use. Great for retrieving fried foods. Also handy for scooping pickles out of brine or veggies from blanching liquid. Great tool for any kitchen.
Kristy R. Posted on 06/16/2014
This is essential if you are going to be boiling or frying anything in somewhat large quantities. Instead of having to fish everything out with tongs you can get a lot more things with this. Also lowering in multiple pieces of food with this is very useful.
Joshua L. Posted on 05/09/2014
A great strainer to have. Use for draining pastas. Use to strain fried foods. Great quality. I will buy a few others to give as gifts.
Eli V. Posted on 04/13/2014
Seriously, get one of these. Youll find yourself using it more than you might expect-- from deep frying, blanching, to skimming foam off the top of stocks, this thing has plenty of utility. Good price too.

This is great tool to have. You can use it to take pasta out of hot water, fried foods out of the oil. Its a great multi use product.

Love it, love it...I don't know why I didn't get this early. Nice, light, easy to use, don't hold oil like my plastic one. Easy to clean and dry. Highly recommend this!
