Centerline by Hobart EDGE-13 13" Manual Meat Slicer - 1/2 hp

Cuts meat nicely, but slicer is much louder than 30year old model 512. The meat grip does not hold the meats/cheeses in place b/c the 'spikes' on the grip are WAY to close together. When you pull back after a slice the product slips and moves and does not come back with the tray!! Going to have to have a machine shop cut out all the extra ones. Also makes a clicking noise on each slice due to the damper springs under the machine on the carriage bar. On previous models the springs are secured and padded. On this model they just hang loose. Used for a month now do not like this machine. Very aggravating to use. Also the end pieces of meats produced are much large than previous models.Have used Hobart slicers since 1976. Cannot recommend this model.

We've only been using the unit for about 5 months, but so far so good. Very easy to use and it performs great. We use it for cutting turkeys, hams and cheese. We tend to "shave" our meats, which it does a very good job at. Having the sharpener on board is great. A little bit of a pain to clean, but you'll get that with any slicer. Overall, I'd highly recommend.

I will not use anything but Hobart when it comes to a slicer. The EDGE-12 is a work horse that was designed to be used as a back-up, but is now a daily use.

Hobart makes a great slicer....but this one falls short of the Hobart name. I ordered two of these slicers to try them in 2 of our stores. They worked for 5 days...each. The drive motor sits very low in this unit. If you have someone that's liberal with a water hose, as in washing down a meat prep table, this motor will get wet. I does NOT have a protective plate under it like the higher end Hobart slicer. Yes, it's a good slicer, just baby it. Think about that before you spend the money.

This model replaced a 15 year old mid-tier Berkel, and we are highly disappointed with it. Three service calls so far, and it's only been a few months. We should have stuck with a Berkel, or Hobarts high end models.

Poor quality, slicer won't turn on straight out of packaging. Hobart service is now trying to figure out why it won't start. Tech ordered some new parts, naturally on back order, so now jumping through hoops to buy an older rebuilt that are much better quality.

This slicer is absolutely the best you can do for the price. Slices perfectly, easy to clean, and we’ve had no issues after quite a bit of use.

So we started doing ham, turkey, smoked pork slices for sale... We have since gotten rid of the Hobart and no longer offer sliced meat... However... This Hobart is among the best if not THE BEST brand wise... We have a huge 60qt Hobart mixer in our kitchen... WE LOVE IT!... Definitely recommend

We've been using the slicer for a little over a month now. It's really awesome. I love it. Hobart is the best. The sliver works great for all of our lunch meat and cheese that we slice.

Great slicer. My butchers love it. It is powerful. We get large orders of sliced meats and this slicer gets the job done no problem.

Came in random recycled box not property packaged or padded so item came in damaged. I called in and apparently the parts that needed was discontinued. So they did kindly refunded me my money. So now I have to look for replacement. Perhaps not a Hobart. But either way thank you Webstraurant!

Don't spend your money on this unit. It cannot even slice cheddar cheese without stopping the blade. The unit just doesn't have enough power, extremely weak. Also products like this shipped from online stores get damaged ours showed up with a bent leg and the adjusting table on it already has something wrong with it. I don't know if it was dropped in transfer or what happened but I received a broken slicer and my employees didn't let me know until the return window has expired. I would steer clear of this product.

It's an ok slicer. It is horrible for cheese. We bought this to replace an avantco 13 in slicer. The avantco sliced so much better. We also have 2 of the old hobart 1712 that are 10 times the machine this new hobart is. So we will keep it for a backup.

We purchased this Hobart slicer almost 2 years ago and it's still running strong. Easy enough to clean and doesn't take up too much space.

a great slicer!! Works great easy to clean. We are a light duty cafe. The staff has no complaints about it. Looks good and cuts big chunks of meat and cheese well

I will buy and trust anything by Hobart! Great products that are durable and last. These products are worth every cent you will spend! Outstanding!!

What a great evolution of a classic slicer. This feels like the top of the line Hobart at way less. Even the safety features aren't annoying (Think mixer shields). Seriously, this is a great buy.

This 12" hobart slicer is great for the price! I could not ask for more when using it the way we do. It is not the best of the best but if you're using it moderately it is perfect. After 9 months of use everyday, it is still cutting like it were brand new.

I bought this for my fire dept. It's a scaled back version of their cadillac but for a huge savings, it will work just fine for us!
