I love this skinning knife, though I use it for a rather different use (other than intended). I actually use this to clean skirt steaks with way more ease. The knife comes razor sharp straight from factory. While I sharpen all my own knives with japanese whetstones, I have had a hard time keeping this knife sharp. I am not sure if this is due to the material (too soft, too hard? rockwell?). I may have to take this to our local knife sharpening service to get it back to its original sharpness. BUT, this knife is excellent! Buy this without a second doubt.
