Customer Q&A Ask a Question

Can I use this French fry / potato cutter when working with sweet potatoes?
No, it is recommended to not use sweet potatoes with this French fry / potato cutter since sweet potatoes are too hard and too dense to properly pass through the cutter blades. Forcing sweet potatoes through could ultimately end up breaking the blades.

cutter wedge potato potatoes easy wedges cuts blades cut CLEANING
I purchased this based on the recommendation of the website. I cut 2 sweet potatoes with the 6 wedge cutter, on the second potato the middle blade fell out. They sent me a replacement cutter and on the first russet potato the middle blade started to bend so I stopped. This is not designed to cut potatoes so please don’t buy it. If you see a picture of it the middle cutting blade it has no attachment in the center which causes this to be a defective product.
We appreciate your feedback! We’re sorry this is defective. A Customer Solutions Representative will be contacting you soon.
this potato wedge cutter is the perfect choice! It works extremely well and fits perfectly in our stores. We use it all the time and so far it's not failed us. Great product.
Making potato wedges has never been easier. Simply wash your potatoes run them through the wedge cutter and put them in the deep fryer. Fast easy and simple. The wedge cutter is sharp fast and efficient.
This is one of those tricky tools - not multi-function, which is annoying, but you also can't cut wedge fries with a mandolin. I find it's great for efficiency when you want a lot of wedges, but ultimately not that much better than using a knife, where you'd have to make three cuts to get 6 wedges. Basically, it takes up an awful lot of space for something that only does one thing, but it does do that one thing really well.
The Choice Potato Wedge Cutter - 6 Wedge French Fry Cutter is very durable and heavy. It was easy to assembly with directions. I have not use yet. Great price.
One of our new favorite toys in the kitchen! Such a time saver! Super easy to use, easy to clean, and stores away nicely. We make a lot of wedge fries here for guests and this is a wonderful addition to our kitchen!
Just got this wedge cutter today, tried it out just now. It exceeds my expectations. I ordered the suction cup feet for it, they hold it steady, in fact with wet hands they are hard to pull off the counter. To remedy that, I stuck it near the edge of the counter, so I could slide it to get it loose easier. It takes no time at all to cut up a bowl full of potatoes, and it takes very little effort to do so...
BACKGROUND: I'm just a guy who likes fun gadgets to cook with in his kitchen. I use this now and then, but if you're wondering how this thing would hold up being used 100 times a day, 7 days a week, in a business setting ... I have no idea. INTRO: It's a potato cutter. I'll be honest; I bought this wedge cutter out of laziness. Anybody with a knife can cut a potato into 6 pieces, but you can't do it nearly as quickly as you can with this machine. You have the option of screwing it to the wall or leaving it on the counter and cutting the potato that way. Don't waste your money by buying a cheap plastic one. Get the real thing. It may seem expensive (granted, this was the cheapest place to buy it by far), but it only is because it's actually two purchases. This comes with the base device and the 6-wedge cutter. The good thing about this device is that you can change out the actual blades and pusher for, say, a regular french fry cutter (three different sizes) or 8-wedge cutter (smaller wedges). The individual blades are reasonably priced in the $10-20 range. SIZE: The cutter is huge. This thing is much bigger and heavier than I thought it would be (the profile doesn't lie or anything, I just didn't read carefully). STABILITY: The cutter is very, very solid. The blades are sharp. The materials are all high quality and heavy metal. It's easy to set up and use. The blades are easy to switch out if you have a screwdriver (they do provide you with one of those cheap mini wrench type things that you get when you put stuff with screws together). THE GOOD: Look, the only reason you're probably here is to find out if this thing cuts sweet potatoes. It does. Without any issue at all. No extra physical strain. It's great with a regular potato or a sweet potato. THE BAD: Potatoes don't all grow the same size. Some are funny shapes. In that way, the cutter can be a bit of a pain in the butt to get some uniform shapes out of your ugly, deformed potato. Your best bet is to use the more normal looking potatoes. You know, oval, plump, etc. If you have normal looking potatoes, the process is a breeze. SUGGESTION: The best thing to do for any potato is to cut the end tip off of the potato so it's flat. It'll help keep the potato in place for when you push down on it. CLEANING. Everything comes apart for easy of cleaning. I'd suggest you, at minimum, wipe it down after every use with a good cleaning every so often. RECOMMENDATION: Worth the purchase if you have some extra money and are a big potato wedge/fry eater. I love this wedge cutter! Takes the guess work out of cutting a perfect wedge. I use it for large party's and concessions. It cuts my prep time in half.
