Customer Q&A Ask a Question

Are the blades interchangeable?
Yes, if you replace the blade and pusher block together, you can easily switch a Choice, Thunder Group, or Winco brand french fry blade from one cutter to another. The blade frames are the same size and the mounting screws are positioned in the same locations. However, the replacement blades and pusher blocks are not compatible with Nemco fry cutters.
Can I use this French fry / potato cutter when working with sweet potatoes?
No, it is recommended to not use sweet potatoes with this French fry / potato cutter since sweet potatoes are too hard and too dense to properly pass through the cutter blades. Forcing sweet potatoes through could ultimately end up breaking the blades.

Save your money and buy a better brand if you are using it for a commercial. The blade is too dull where you have to use extreme force to push through. My bargain for cheap end up costing more money at the end since this is an online order.
Thank you for your review, Thien! We are sorry you did not like this fry cutter. We recommend trying Vollrath's 47713 3/8" French Fry Cutter for a more durable cutter for your commercial restaurant.

Works great. My fries are fantastic when using this. It does need to be attached to the wall if you are using it often though.

This french fry cutter has saved me hundreds of dollars by being able to make my own fries. Plus, I don't need as much freezer space for frozen fries any more. The fasteners need periodic tightening. Very durable and is not showing any signs of wear or damage despite me always putting it away to air dry.
I did not know that a french fry cutter could make such a difference. I've always hand-cut my potatoes for french fries which means they were never the same size and would cook unevenly. The french fry cutter cuts them all 3/8" so they all have the same cooking time. Very easy to use and can't believe I waited so long to get one!
Great potatoe cutter. Easy to mount and use. We mounted on the wall and cut down into buckets. Works great and easy for all to use.
Great french fry cutter, heavy duty, i use it in my restaurant and cut atleast 150 pounds of potato with this a day and it holding up nice
Perfect fry size and it really easy to use and setup. This is easier than buying bag fries and also healthier. I would recommend this product
I love the great quality and low price of this Choice French fry cutter. The fries are the perfect size and the unit mounts on the wall for easy use. The plates pop out and are easy to clean.
Love this! I make French fries at home, my husband loves the thicker cut fries. It's easy to use, easy to clean. I would suggest to get the suction cups with it though, the cutter slides around the counter when cutting.
strong and easy to installed . we cut 50# of potatoes twice a day and its a life saver, our ladies prep-cooks are happy because they don't have use the tomato dicer to cut our potatoes. and its not hard to use for them neither, now they take 15 mins to prep our hand cut fries.
The build quality on these are not great... but I guess I shouldn't expect much from the price. The butterfly nuts fall out easily and get lost, and are extremely hard to replace (hardware store doesn't have that size...not other store either) But it's sharp, and cuts onions perfectly. I actually lost a butterfly nut in my potatoes when I was cutting them - found them after blanching some fries, and was quite alarmed. These things are easy to lose track of.

Makes mounds of fries with very little effort! I only wish I had opted for the 1/4" size over the 3/8 as they cook faster
This potato cutter works smooth and efficiently. Fries are cut even every time. It’s a easy clean up. You can also purchase different blades for different size fries! My family loves it! We’ve used several times since I purchased about two months ago!
We use our fry cutter several times a year. We mounted it to a pallet and it works well. I pull the lever with one hand and catch the fries in a bowl with the other.
This cutter is built like a tank! very durable and most importantly cuts perfectly each time. Looking to get a few more, as fries have become a big hit with my business since getting it.
LOVE, love, love this this french fry cutter. I am very pleased with how well it mounted on the wall, the blades have stayed very sharp and it cleans up very easy!!
our hand cut fresh fries has been a great addition to our menu. customers love the fresh cut. we are saving on labor..... it has been a great buy. and the price is right.
This fry cutter is great. Cuts fries quickly and evenly into the perfect size for frying. Was able to cut up 100lbs of potatoes in about an hour. Gone are the days of using a knife to slice potatoes for fries.
while not the highest quality/level cutter you can get, this is still super heavy and high quality. its made of cast iron and cuts pretty easily with a little pressure. it's a good deal if you make a lot of fries.
Pretty good french fry cutter. We went through a couple of these over the passed couple of years in our store. We do use it all the time so it makes sense to wear out eventually. replacement parts are easy to buy if any parts break or get lost.
