Customer Q&A Ask a Question

Are the blades interchangeable?
Yes, if you replace the blade and pusher block together, you can easily switch a Choice, Thunder Group, or Winco brand french fry blade from one cutter to another. The blade frames are the same size and the mounting screws are positioned in the same locations. However, the replacement blades and pusher blocks are not compatible with Nemco fry cutters.
Can I use this French fry / potato cutter when working with sweet potatoes?
No, it is recommended to not use sweet potatoes with this French fry / potato cutter since sweet potatoes are too hard and too dense to properly pass through the cutter blades. Forcing sweet potatoes through could ultimately end up breaking the blades.

Save your money and buy a better brand if you are using it for a commercial. The blade is too dull where you have to use extreme force to push through. My bargain for cheap end up costing more money at the end since this is an online order.

Thank you for your review, Thien! We are sorry you did not like this fry cutter. We recommend trying Vollrath's 47713 3/8" French Fry Cutter for a more durable cutter for your commercial restaurant.

You must be pretty strong to use this. I don't mind for home use cause it isn't that many potatoes. However wouldn't see myself using it as a chef and doing many at one time.

Mounted on the wall in food trailer

This french fry cutter has saved me hundreds of dollars by being able to make my own fries. Plus, I don't need as much freezer space for frozen fries any more. The fasteners need periodic tightening. Very durable and is not showing any signs of wear or damage despite me always putting it away to air dry.

Good value for the money - if you're a large commercial kitchen you'll want to get the Vollrath brand as it will slice through large potatoes with easy. You'll need to replace the cutter on this often.

This cutter does a fine job with small to medium spuds. On the larger spuds there were issues. I will say if you are not going to bolt this to a tabletop or board get the suction cup version as we had to give up and bolt it down as it shifts.

I really like this French fry cutter. It works perfectly. The only problem I've come across is that a lot of use, the blade got a little dull. But you'd expect that with overuse of any blade

This is a very good fry cutter. The mechanical operation Is very smooth and the fries come out nice and evenly cut. Just about everything you want with a fry cutter in this price range.

I have purchased this brand of french fry cutter in the past, and the 3/8" cutter does not disappoint. we will be cutting french fries on a daily basis and so far the blade is holding up very well.

This is a very sturdy, well made fry cutter. The interchangeable blades and Pusher plates make it a versatile item to have in your kitchen to expand your menu. We purchased the 8 slice wedge blade for ours to be able to do our signature Garlic Parmesan wedges. Swapping out blades and pushers takes about 30 seconds so there's little time lost.

Good product for the price, little tough to get started, but made some adjustments & works fairly well now. I don't recommend halving the potatoes at all before placing them in the cutter, they'll got stuck!! Overall a decent item.

This potato fry cutter gets a daily workout in our kitchen. It is built very well for an inexpensive hand fry cutter. Would highly recommend.

This item works really well. I highly recommend get suction cup feet if not mounting on wall. But we went from buy frozen french fries to making our own thanks to this product.

using this cutter for making some fresh french fry, the cutting part work so far so good, but there is a problem about the foot of it, it would move away if you don't put some srews at the bottom.

from lancaster Tea Box cafe Posted on

we cut on average of ten thousand pounds of potatoes on this every year and we only have to change the blade one per year.

from Express Meal Services Posted on

This thing is heavy, so heavy that you better bolt it down to the table, dropping this thing on your foot would not be good. But the weight allows it to cut through potatoes and make perfectly cut fries

from Sweet Pea's Cupcakery Cafe Posted on

Great price, great product, solidly made, I was surprised how well it was constructed, works well, may buy a second one in time, would suggest for fresh french fries.
