Knowing how to clean and maintain your Avantco slicer is essential for extending its lifespan! Be sure to wear protective gloves when cleaning your slicer.

For best results, use our meat slicer safety cleaning kit. First, set your blade thickness to 0, and use a gentle scrub pad on the cleaning wand to wipe the blade while the slicer is on. Now, unplug your slicer and close the gauge plate. Remove the product tray, slice deflector, and center plate to clean them separately.

Next, use the Avantco blade removal tool, wipe down the exterior, grip the blade and clean the front and back with Formula-D degreaser. Then mist QuikSan sanitizing spray on the machine. You can also use LubriQuik on the table slide rod and end-weight slide rod to keep them moving smoothly.

In addition, you should sharpen the blade every 2 weeks. To do this, loosen the bolt on the built-in sharpener. Turn the sharpener 180 degrees so it rests over the blade, and tighten the bolt. Turn the slicer on, and press the rear sharpening button 1 minute at a time. Once it’s sharp, press the front finishing button to smooth the edge. Then simply turn off the unit, return the assembly to its original position, and tighten it into place. Your slicer is now ready for use!

    After a recommendation from a friend, I decided to have a look at the Avantco SL310 slicer to replace a cheap slicer for my home kitchen use where I slice meat 2 or 3 times a week. I wanted something durable that could slice deli thin slices or thicker as needed and something that would last me for a LONG time. I decided to give the Avantco a try and I'm glad I did. After using this slicer for several months I am convinced that it will last me for a LONG time and I am quite satisfied with it. It's durable and easy to use. In my opinion this slicer is rather easy to clean. There are two twist off knobs require to remove the slider and the blade face plate and then three phillips head screws to remove the blade. I can have it broken down in about 3 minutes or less. It takes me 5 to 8 minutes to wipe it down and remove any debris and then sanitize the parts and another two or 3 minutes to put it back together. To me, thats about as easy as it gets for cleaning something like this. I clean it completely after every use and have no issues with the time or difficulty of that process.     Outstanding value for the price! Large enough to hold a brisket in the carriage and a wide range of thickness selections from paper thin to over 1/2". My only complaint is the meat guard on the back of the blade does not sufficiently match the profile of the blade to keep stray meat from being pulled behind the blade. Other than that I would not hesitate to purchase again or recommend this Avantco slicer.

    Love this! Just used, cleaned & reassembled for the first time. Sliced an eye of round into paper thin slices with no problems. Cleaning it properly is a 15 minute job, but I'm super fussy. Actually cleaning it was not as bad as I expected. This is a quality piece of equipment, I'm very pleased!

    Slicey slicey slicey! It's slice city over here at the restaurant ever since we got this slicer. We alive bacon. And we slice arrows. And we slice carrots. We slice ham. It's more than good. It's grrrrrrrrereeat!

    For a light duty slicer, you can't beat the price. Light duty by my definition means I have to take time to clean it. A cut proof glove is a must for cleaning this thing. The cleaning kit helps with the every day wipe down, but if you slice something fatty (bacon) then you'll want to clean it down deep which takes some doing. As far as actual slicing goes, this thing definitely holds it's own. The carriage has smooth action and the slices are clean.

    This is one of the great investment I made for my kitchen. It is very easy to use, to clean and most of all is it very compact. Higly recommend for small space.
    Not all that great, We doon't really use our slicer a lot so when my old Hobart broke after a liftime of use , we went with this one ... It does slice ok after getting some use to it, but it is a pain to clean. We spend more time taking it appart for cleaning than we do use it. Super flomsy feel to it too, but that is to be expected from that brand since all they make is "disposable".

    cheaply made. the foot broke off after six months and can't be repaired. They wont cover it under warranty saying it is "damaged". Well, may be if it want so cheaply made the metal would not break under normal use. Now I have to how the whole thing away.

    I purchased this for home use only. It is fairly light and performs well, very easy to clean. Working in kitchens all my life I always want to get the biggest and best but this satisfy's all my needs.
    I love this machine . It is small and practice. Easy to use and great quality. I recommend you this producto because it's price is lower than many others.
    This slicer is powerful enough for my needs and small enough to move around by myself. Not the strongest motor but perfect for my needs. Sharpens easy and it is fairly easy to clean.
    Highly disappointed in the components with this slicer. It has been used a handful of times in the last 4 years and the metal is tarnished. We cared for it properly and it was stored in a dry space. Contacted the company who told us not to air dry after washing, then sent a video telling us to air dry all parts. They would not stand behind their product as their minimal warranty of 1 year was up. I found them to be demeaning and lacked care for their product they produced. Will definitely be going with a different company from now on. Customer service is very poor.

    I would highly recommend this Meat Slicer. It is made of heavy duty rust proof material. It is very easy to use, and most importantly, it is commercial grade.
    Been using this machine for over a year and it still works just fine! It does not work if you want super super thin cuts almost paper like! But it works fine for regular ham.
    This is one of my favorite Webstaurantstore purchases. This slicer is very sharp, and a fairly powerful motor. I use this often for basic prep and serving uses. It does a great job with roast beef and turkey and other soft meats, but can trouble getting through aged salumi. Its impossible to get a thin slice of prosciutto or capicola, both are dense cold cuts. Also, at 10" it wont fit a whole top round, but when we have large items, we just usually split them in half and they slice perfectly. Thoroughly cleaning this machine is not for the faint of heart. It doesnt break down completely and getting into the little nooks and crannies takes work. It is a significant trade off, but at this price and value, its one we are comfortable with.
    This Avantco meat slicer is just what I needed for slicing ham, roast beef, and bacon. I had to cut the pork belly in half in order to slice it, but clients didn't mind it one bit. Sliced the roast beef and ham really well. I like that adjusting the thickness is easy. Taking it apart for cleaning was a little difficult. All in all, a great little slicer that suits my needs just fine.
    Went to use this slicer and after the first use, slid the slicer over to clean underneath it. One of the feet broke off while sliding it across the stainless steel table. Contacted WebstaurantStore and they said this was product abuse and would not cover any repairs! PLEASE NOTE ALL HEAVY SLICERS MUST ME LIFTED CAREFULLY TO CLEAN UNDERNEATH AS SLIDING WILL VOID WARRANTY!

    This meat slicer is fantastic and works very well. It serves its purpose smoothly and successfully and makes very clean cuts. Meets our needs sufficiently.
    We have been using this slicer for the past few months and we love it. it makes clean thin cuts and the built in sharpener keeps the blade nice and sharp. motor runs nice and quit. great product.
