This mixer is not suitable for mixing cookies, unless you're okay with mixing only 10lbs of cookie dough at a time (yes, that's how much they told me was safe to use with cookie dough). When I first received my mixer, there was a LOUD clanging sound that was coming from the paddle hitting the side of one of my bowls (this only happened with one of the two bowls I have). I thought the bowl was defective, so Webstaurant sent me a replacement bowl. When it arrived, it did the same thing as the last. VERY loud clanging noise from the paddle hitting the sides of the bowl. It was hitting it so hard in fact, the locking mechanism on the sides of the bowl slowly became unlocked the longer it mixed from the bowl shifting around. While this mixer can be used for cookie dough, we recommend using a softened butter cookie dough for best results, as cold butter is considerably harder on the machine.
