What's the difference between a riveted and a welded handle?
A riveted handle is connected by small metal pieces (called rivets) that are crushed between the handle and the pan body to attach them together. This type of handle is more common on copper and aluminum cookware.

For a handle to be welded, the metal must first be melted and then adhered to the pan body. This creates a strong bond that leaves little to no space in between, so bacteria and other food crumbs can’t collect and cause sanitation issues. Both are long lasting solutions for fry and sauce pan handles because they are durable and can withstand heat.
How is top diameter measured in frying pans, and how accurate is this measurement?
The top diameter is the measurement across the frying pan from the interior of one side of the rim to the other. These dimensions are a close approximation as many frying pans have a curved upper rim, which makes precise measurement difficult. The standard naming is by top diameter, so although multiple brands have a 10” frying pan, there will likely be a small variation between each brand’s 10” pan.

Best all-purpose basic stainless frying pan I could find, kind of expensive. Satisfactorily cooks at lower temperature settings [be aware]. Possibly more professional of a pan than I need, but I'll have it 'forever' so I'm OK with that.

Great size for an egg or two. The heat plate does a great job, and reaches wide enough that I haven't been burning anything where it doesn't reach. The handle feels great in the hands, connects to the pot in a way that seems indestructible, and doesn't leave a lot of room for filth to hide.

I bought 5 of these pans. I own 2 diners. I was trying to find a good & durable egg pan (without Teflon). Because of the excellent reviews, I chose this pan. I have tried every way in the world for the egg not to stick to the pan. I have tried oiling the pan with a light coat. I have tried a non stick spray, and even went all the way to the max of almost deep frying the egg in the pan coating it with so much oil. I gave a 1 star review for this product, but if someone can educate me on cooking eggs in the pan without them sticking, I will update my review.

We're sorry to hear you didn't like this pan. Stainless steel pans are great for searing, but can become challenging to use when cooking with more delicate foods. Unless properly used and cared for this will happen to the best of brands. When using stainless steel fry pans, we recommend to pre-heat your pan before adding oil to make sure it is hot before cooking. Also avoid putting cold food directly in the pan to diminish the difference in heat. After use, properly clean your pan by allowing it to cool and using soap and warm water. Some chefs even go as far as to preseason their stainless steel pans before use, but this is a personal preference. If you are looking for an option with less maintenance, we suggest trying this Vigor 8" stainless steel non-stick fry pan instead.

This pan is so lightweight and easy to use – and it’s the perfect size for individual servings. Make sure you use silicone utensils, or ones that are non-abrasive so you don’t scratch the finish.

The 8” Aluminum-Clad Stainless Steel Fry Pan is well made and durable. It is heavy weight and it heats evenly. It is very easy to clean. Thi should is great for both residential and commercial use.

At the end of the day you get what you pay for. Stainless steel will always be the way to go. A solid pan for 2-3 eggs or a great single serve fry pan.

I am very pleased with the price and performance of this product. Made well and sturdy and cleans up well and easily. I mostly use ghee and coconut oil for sautéing and have had no problem with food sticking.
