The Master-Bilt DD-66 ice cream dipping cabinet holds 12 standard 3 gallon ice cream cans for effective merchandising and dipping, with room for 8 more beneath the display racks in storage! Brilliant fluorescent lighting and a tempered glass viewing window ensure that your delicious ice cream looks its best and is highly visible.
This ice cream dipping cabinet features 2 1/4" of foamed-in-place urethane insulation, plus a cold wall evaporator design and a 1/2 hp compressor that maintains internal temperatures between -5 and 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Its stainless steel serving deck, heavy-duty epoxy-coated wire can support racks and an integrated drain with a garden hose connection ensure years of dependable service and easy cleaning.
This ice cream dipping cabinet requires a 115V electrical connection.

Seems like a well built cabinet, but many issues. First, this longer one has an exposed temperature knob that gets bumped. Not good. Second, the left side door is severely warped, I tried to show it in pics but it's not easy to see. Third, the double covers for the tubs are terrible - you end up scraping ice off the side walls and it ends up in your ice cream. The all-thread is too long for the units that are over the compressor, I had to cut them short to prevent our employees' knuckles from being scratched.
Lastly, the ice cream gets soupy up top.
We previously had an Avantco 12 tub unit, it was superior (and it coated much less). We thought we'd "upgrade" to Masterbilt but it turned out to be a downgrade.

We purchased this cabinet October 17, 2017, cabinet is very noisy and when it shuts off or turns on, cabinet shakes so much it makes my whole floor shake. I was concerned about this so I contacted Master-bilt directly. Tech support told me the 16 bunker cabinet has a really big compressor so this is normal. Cabinet has been hard to regulate temperature, minor adjustments (quarter turn) causes either too hard to too soft ice cream. Well after 33 months use, our cabinet is no longer working. a few weeks ago we noticed our ice cream was really soft, our temperature dial was all the way up, so on August 4, a local electrician added Freon. We bought an ice cream shop a couple of month ago and bought this ice cream dipping cabinet to replace an old one that was being in use for 30 years or so. We were really excited and so looking forward to this new one. It took some time to plug in and test it out as we were doing a remodel. Unfortunately, we experienced much more disappointments than joy once we set it up and plugged in.

We have had this ice cream dipping cabinet for 8 months and the rubber seals going around the cover has either broken off or is peeling off. The build quality is not that good. Also, this is not a frost free freezer so it needs to be defrosted monthly to keep the ice from building up too much around the sides. The drain at the bottom is small so it clogs very easily, prevent it from completely draining during the defrosting.

The ice cream cabinet is very, very nice. It holds 16 flavors of ice cream and looks very nice in our shop; however it arrived with a dent in the box. Upon opening the box, we found that the end of the cabinet was dented. This was probably done in transit.
We were able to pound out the dent to make it look decent. I then contacted webstaurant.com and sent pictures of the damaged box and ice cream dipping cabinet for their review. They were very courteous, and responded quickly to our concerns. They issued a partial credit to us within a week's time for the damage on the cabinet. I am very, very happy with Webstaurant.com, and would definitely order from them. I only wish that we could talk to someone on the phone, but there are no phone numbers and everything has to be handled online.
