Will compatible lids and food storage containers create an air tight seal when used together?
The lids best serve as a cover for your food containers. Although they are not meant to seal tightly, they do an excellent job of keeping contaminants out of the container's contents. The lids do not snap or lock into place and will come off if knocked over or turned upside down.
The hanging hole on these new lids from Cambro is really nice for being organized and hygienic in the kitchen. Note that these lids are not completely spill proof, there is still a minor amount of leakage. Probably not an issue for regular use, but just be advised.

The lid fits pretty snugly into the container, it's not super easy to get on and off but that security is also a good thing. I can take the lid off one handed if I put the container on a counter top first. There are not any small crevices for food to get stuck in so it's relatively easy to clean and dishwasher safe. Overall I really like these containers.

This new lid fits insides of the container in a more recessed design and creates an airtight seal, no more leaking from lids.
