Avantco FF400 Liquid Propane 50 lb. Stainless Steel Floor Fryer - 120,000 BTU

I'm not happy with this purchase unfortunately. I purchased three of these units, and 1 of them came severely dented... but I was able to straighten it out by jumping on it. (No joke) The legs don't level very nicely, so they're off-kilt, and I had to put wood under one of them to stay super level..... which is ridiculous. The pilot light must be on CRAZY high in order to even work, otherwise it turns off - which is EXTREMELY annoying. I prefer to leave my pilot light lit all night long, when I come in the morning, the oil is still kind of warm, because the pilot light is SO high.... you can actually hear the pilot light working, unlike any other fryer I've used; and ALL three do this, so it's not a defect in one, it's a defect in the product. Read More

I wouldn't recommend these fryers, I purchased 2 of them both only lasted about a year. You will have issues with the thermostats/thermocouples and not keeping temperature for the grease, On my food truck mid shift this happened and I was unable to use the fryer. You will also have pilot light issues. I tried to repair them with new gas valves and new thermostats/thermocouples and still had issues with the fryer staying on during a shift and working properly.

I've ordered 3 of these units over the past 3 years. We have had a couple issues with thermostats/thermocouples going out but it's a cheap and easy fix. I'd buy them again in the future.

we have had 2 of these for 2 years now. they have performed flawlessly and have not required and additional service besides oil change. they do get dirty and could use a good pressure washing in and out every 2 years or so.

Run of the mill fryer, works great if maintained well. If you have a little bit extra to spend I would go a step up, but if in a crunch will get the job done.

We purchased this fryer for our food truck after purchasing two of the natural gas fryers for our restaurant. They are wonderful even though they are inexpensive.

I purchased 2 of Avantco FF400 propane fryers for my food truck. I haven't had a chance to use them yet because I'm still building the food truck.

This fryer works great! This is the addition to my hundred pound unit. Two of them are great side by side. They both recover fast and they are great units. Only have them for a few months so far so let's see they hold up!

I purchased one for my food truck in May 2018. At the time we were only using the food truck part time, 1-3 times per week. In November 2018 fryer would not hold the pilot. When i called i the warranty they made me deliver it to the closest service shop, 1.5 hours a way. The service shop had problems getting the parts from the manufacturer. I didnt get the fryer back until Jan 2019. Worked fine at the time. Since then we use the food truck 4-6 days a week and here we are in April 2019 with the same problem as before. Now the warranty company is making me send them a copy of invoice, even though my fryer is already in there system. They tried to tell me the 1 year warranty expired in Jan 2019. If you are looking for a long term fryer dont get this one. Ive worked in restaurants my whole life and never seen this many problems with a new piece of equipment.

The avantco FF400 50 lb. fire is a great big for the price. It has a great recovery time and is simple to use and install.

I was so impressed with the first one I purchased, I bought a second. I have used Vulcan fryers of the same, and this fryer does it better and for a lot less money! I am so pleased with this product and purchase.

I have this on my food truck and it is a total beast! It heats so fast and makes a great product! It is easy to clean, unlike my other fryer (an Imperial). When I am able, I will be replacing my 2nd fryer with another one of these. It's a great product and I couldn't be happier!

Great fryer. This is perfect for getting the most bang for your buck. It doesn't take up a ton of room, but can still do a ton of work.

Bought this fryer back in April and I have no complaints. This fryer keeps up with the high demand we put on it. I clean and change the oil every one to two weeks. Heats up fast, easy to hook up. If business keeps going the way it is I will definitely be getting another one.

This fryer it the perfect size for my food truck. It heats up very quickly and the thermostat is easy to access. I also is easy to drain.

We bought 2 of these fryers, they heat up quickly and maintain temperature well. Turn temp down between lunch and dinner if you have a down time to save on propane.

We purchased this seven months ago. The unit works as advertised. We make fresh cut French fries that are 3/8" cut. They take approximately five minutes to cook. We also make our own hand-breaded chicken fried steak. They take approximately four minutes to cook. I feel this is an excellent fryer for the price. Here it is, the heavy-duty, one stop shop for all things frying related. Small enough to tuck away in a corner of the kitchen, but large enough to get he job done and fry up some french fries. Yum!!
