Amana RMS10DSA Stainless Steel Commercial Microwave with Dial Controls - 120V, 1000W

A few years ago AMANA changed the design of the RMS10DS and the model number to RMS10DS"A". Many of the reviews here are for the old model RMS10DS. I still have an old RMS10DS still in service from 2018 and yes, it is a great product. However, the new model "A" is a disaster. I used AMANA for many years and always got 3-5 years out of the old model. You would be incredibly lucky to get 12 months out of the "A" model. I got a warranty replacement last year on a unit that failed after 3 months. The replacement unit just failed after 8 months and there is no warranty coverage on it. I am going to try PANASONIC.

Amana stainless steel microwave is sleek looking and simple to use with knob dials instead of a lot of complicated buttons. Efficient amount of power for defrosting cooking and reheating food.

Great, easy to clean and operate. Lasted 1 year and 7 months.

I purchased this item for use in my home. Executive Summary for this item: Great product, buy now! Details.... Avoid the greasy and sticky and defective and illegible touch pad on most microwave ovens... get this one instead. Designed for use at least 50 times per day,... so it is potentially teenager resistant. I have it located in a low light area of my kitchen, and that is where the pretty red colored led's really shine. Easy to set, and easy to monitor with just a glance. Unit stays cool because fan runs not only during cooking but for 1 minute after I take the food out and close the door. Food cooks evenly even with no carousel, as waves are scattered randomly from below, into the oven cavity.

Lasted 7 months. Entirely overpriced for such little longevity.

I bought 4 units 3 for 4 were seemingly good machines. 1 has something wrong with the door that keeps it from starting. The warranty process is unacceptable for where I live, 60miles from the city, aka a repairman for this type of equipment, by the time I pay trip time and repair I am better off just buying another unit.

The oven was delivered today. I plugged it in, turned it on and sparks shot out of the bottom. I now have to deal directly with Amana warranty service. Obviously some issues with quality control. Funny thing is, one of the reasons I chose this oven is that it's made in the US.

Used at a hotel breakfast by the guest themselves, very little usage and it still broke 1 month after the 1 year warranty. Year2&3 only covers part, labor and travel is on the end user (useless as a new unit cost less than the repair). I do not recommend this unit.

Seriously, I do not know how I managed without this top quality Amana Microwave. It is simple to operate and very substantially built. I especially like the ventilation system which prevents condensation as well as its stainless steel interior. I love this unit!

Finally! A nice microwave made in the USA. We are replacing a 3 year old other model that is similar but has had dial issues after 6 months. The Amana is superior in every way. First off, there is no stupid turntable. This oven doesn't care what you are heating. No programs, no two handed safety latch, No baloney. The instructions say it all OPEN THE DOOR, PUT THE ITEM IN, CLOSE THE DOOR, AND TURN THE DIAL! Gotta love it! The dial is very well lit. The interior is very well lit. Amana Rocks!

Great microwave, I got it for the simplicity of it alone. It seems to shoot microwaves from the bottom upwards, versus from the side (which is why most microwave ovens have a built in spinner). Heats more evenly and quickly. Mine stopped beeping when the cycle is done after a dozen or so uses (hence 4 star rating), so I have to keep and eye out on it if I'm doing other things in the kitchen. There's no buttons to turn it on or off, so I'm guessing the beep sound is just broken. Also, the fan comes on when you open the door, and stays on for about 1 minute after you close the door, or after a cooking cycle is done. I was thrown off by this when I plugged it in and opened the door the first time. I thought I was about to get irradiated and turn into the Hulk. :) Now that I know what it's doing, it makes sense. It helps remove humidity and heat.

We ordered this microwave primarily for softening butter and heating up lunches. Works just the way it should. Super easy to keep clean. We haven't experienced any issues yet.

this amana microwave works great for our snack bar baseball games. it is durable and it long lasting. i highly recommended it for snack bar use

I always buy Amana microwaves. While they eventually fail, (like every other microwave I have bought) they do provide a good long life. These are simple to operate, durable and easy to clean. I recommend.

Wow this unit packs a punch in quick uniform heating. The dial control is easy to manage during rush Times. The all smooth interior is a breeze to clean. I highly recommend this unit.

The microwave heats up fast, and a very easy dial. Also very easy to clean. Int is also very compact and fits into my space perfectly.

This microwave does it's job and has nice simple controls and easy to use interface. It is kinda old school which makes me hope it will last a long time. You do want to wipe out the interior and the door often as if you leave food on the inside it will wear down on the paint.

For the price this machine is hard to beat; we use in hundreds of times a day and it has not had any major issues since we bought it.

This microwave came in perfect packaging straight from the manufacturer. It could have been dropped off a roof and had a solid chance of being fine. It looked great.

We bought this microwave in January 2016 and it stopped working yesterday. It has limited warranty on exact part that went out (magnetron tube) but upon further investigation only covers the cost of the part. Trip charge and labor by an approved vendor adds up to a cost of a new microwave, no sense to get it repaired. One star for a bad product and pretty bad product support. Will be purchasing a different microwave someplace else.

Purchased this microwave because it's allow you to set your own timer instead of the preprogrammed one. Minimal noise and great for the price. The dial timer the best feature making warming food quick and easy.

This little Microwave oven works like a dream. Very easy to operate, almost foolproof. Easy to keep clean. Softens a pound of butter in 30 seconds.

I like how the microwave looks. The design looks very professional and nice. The only downside of this product is that the timer is manual, so if you need to cook something at a certain temperature for a specific amount of time, I would not recommend this. I only have to warm things up, which doesn't require too much accuracy, so I am okay with this.
