I bought this oven for my small cafe. We do small batches of cookies and brownies etc... and for the most part the size of the oven works fine for the quantities I need. The biggest problem with the oven is its lack of ability to hold temp. Once a week I bake of a few dozen buttermilk biscuits which need a high temperature to ensure proper rise. I set the oven to its max setting of 500 degrees, wait for the green ready light, and quickly place one room temperature sheet of biscuits into it. The temperature drops to roughly 275 degrees and will not climb back anywhere close to the 425 I would like the biscuits to bake at before they are finished baking. The temperature drop occurs with any item and the more trays you put in at a time the more severe the drop and length Read More

This is listed as a heavy service oven, and we had it on at 350 degrees from kitchen open until kitchen close for melting cheese on sandwiches, shepherds pie and pot pie.. The convection / bake / roast element on the first one lasted 9 days then stopped working, and they sent us a 2nd one as it was under warranty. The replacement lasted 6 days and the same element stopped working. The door seal also can't handle the heat and melts / sticks to the oven, not a good oven.

I bought this oven thinking I would be able to bake three racks of cupcakes (36 total) at one time. Not the case. I can only bake one rack (12 total) at a time. Too many cupcakes means they either burn on the top of they're on the top rack, burn on the bottom if they're on the bottom rack or don't bake all the way through if their on the middle rack. I can't even bake 2 rows at a time. They don't rise properly and the back row bakes too fast, even when I rotate the pan 1/2 way through. AND, the back left cupcake ALWAYS burns. I think I'll be sending this one back. If you want to bake in bulk, don't buy this oven. Spend more and get something more dependable.

We own two waring products and the regular oven works great. The product is good, but after 6 months the convection oven quit working. It is under warranty and we called Waring. They directed us to a local repair shop that wanted us to leave it with them. They said they couldn't look at it for a week and the repairs could take another 1 to 3 weeks. Sorry, but this is not acceptable. Most customers don't that extra equipment sitting around. Called Waring back and was told sorry. That is the best we can do.

It did take a while to break in and get used to the different cooking times and temp but it's well worth it. I've made several batches of Gluten Free cookies perfectly and in large batches now that I can accommodate them with the space. Just be wary that pre-heating may take some time but shortens over time of use. Excellent deal and price from webstaurant.

Not really happy with this oven at all. It cooks unevenly, is noisy, and the door doesnt properly seal either. The steam vents onto the counter which creates a puddle under the oven... I'm awaiting webstaurant to issue an RMA so I can send this thing back. The manufacturer should be ashamed at putting out such a shoddy product.

Only had the oven a short time, seems like there's a learning curve with this oven. it cooks some things unevenly, others are fine. A bit pricey considering how it works. I do like the glass door so I can easily see inside.

We purchased this over with the intent to just bake cookies for the shop. Since then, we have used it to bake all of our morning pastry, cakes, scones, cookies, sandwiches and anything else we wanted to create for our guests. While it can't do what other - more powerful - ovens can do, we have been super happy with it for the past 8 months and think it was a valuable purchase.

This convection oven has good price performance. It will not replace a 2x to 3x as expensive Vollrath or Cadco in some applications though, and does not have the same tolerance to abusive environments. The heating, as mentioned in other reviews, is somewhat uneven, not the best for pastries and such but fine for many other items. The case tends to run hotter than insulated commercial units (no insulation except for "air gap" between the inner and outer shells in the Waring). The Waring has a less durable feel to it, fine for use by the owner but perhaps not so good with abusive employees. The top is flat with no vents, and although not recommended by the mfg, items such as pots that are not affected by heat can reside there. The rear contains the fan assembly and projects about 3-4" (in a largish stainless covered hump assembly), so if rear space is seriously restricted this could be an issue. A good value for the price point.

Purchased this oven, in October of 2022, to replace a different branded unit that I had for about 8 years. Based on the positive reviews, I thought it could handle my needs for a few hundred in savings. I wish I had just ponied up the money and went with another of that original brand. The first unit I had stopped working properly within a month. Talked with Webstaurant and they help facilitate a replacement through Waring. Received the second unit relatively quick, which was nice. Now it has been about a month and half and the second unit is showing signs of breakdown. It will not hold temperature and sometimes just stops heating all together. Overall, I would not recommend this oven in a commercial setting.

This oven is a great convenience to have. Don't expect the same operation from a heavy-duty, in-kitchen model or you will be disappointed. This countertop model was not designed for the same purpose. This oven is good for reheating, hot holding, and baking in small batches. We use it on-site for festivals and catered events and it works out perfectly. Really good value for the price, and the fact that it can take half-size sheet pans makes it well worth it. Recommended product for light to medium duty use.

I have used this oven for 4 years in my cafe. It is the sole oven appliance for baked goods, casseroles, bread, etc and we run it practically ongoing (5-8 hours/day). It has its quirks, but they are consistent and you can learn/work around them. Recently the door seal has not been as tight as it was originally manufactured, but we probably because we are rough on this thing. After several cleaning rounds, the markings on the knobs have worn off completely. Super great value for what I originally paid.

Does adequate baking for a micro operation, but oven breaks down regularly. I am on my third unit and now I have another one gone bad and that gets costly to replace. Waring did honor the warranty on my first break down, but the other two i have gotten since both quit after one year of operation and small baking use.

Love It, Love It, Love It!. As a home chef, I needed a second oven on occasion to meet my baking and roasting needs. The Waring Half Size Countertop Convection Oven (#929WCO500X) does nearly everything my built-in Wolf oven does . . . well, almost - but I will mention the one "drawback" later. I was able to place the oven in a secondary cooking area, which meant I was not taking up valuable counter space, and was allowed to use the oven without heating up the entire kitchen. As I mentioned before, the functions of the Waring are similar to my built-in oven. The only item I would desire and is missing, is a probe for roasting meats. Otherwise, the Waring is ABSOLUTELY perfect. It maintains accurate temperature throughout the cooking process which I find essential with the amount of baking I do. I would recommend this product to anyone needing a second oven for their kitchen needs.

We've had three of these ovens fail within 3-6 months of receiving them, we do get warranty support and they get repaired, only to fail again within weeks. We don't use them daily, but once or twice a week for baking and roasting chicken, peppers for salsas, cookies, small cakes etc. We received our second one DOA while the first one was in the shop for repair and had to go without an oven for over a week, which impacted our business. Currently I have two out for warranty repair, one for the third time, I would not recommend this item to anyone who needs an oven that they have to rely upon for business. I'm current;ly looking at other, more expensive ovens, to make sure we have continuity in our kitchen.

I really wanted to love this oven, but was pretty disappointed. I bought it specifically for the listed capacity which was 4 - 1/2 size sheets. Unfortunately, that is nowhere near accurate. For starters, there are only 3 baking racks so I am not sure how they came up with a 4-pan capacity. Then, if you use 1/2 size pans they will never cook evenly (on conventional or convection). There just isn't enough room for the heat to circulate around everything. So the back corners will get burned, the sides are cooked pretty well, and the center (especially on the bottom rack) will be raw. And if you open the oven door to check on them, be prepared to bake it for an extra 5-10 minutes while the oven gets back up to temp. I am now going to try it with 1/4 sheet pans, but if I had known that is all it would fit from the beginning I would have bought something else. It looks really good on the counter, but that is about it.

Thank you for the review, Andrea. We're sorry you're not happy with this oven. This unit only comes with three half-size sheet pans. A fourth can be purchased and used, although not necessarily on a rack. A Customer Solutions Representative will contact you about the circulation issue.

Waste of money. I've only had the oven for 3 months and am actively looking for a replacement. The oven does not hold temperature. I've monitored using a oven thermometer and notice drops of 50 to 75 degrees below my target temp. For now, I'm setting the oven 25 degrees (in convection mode) above target temperature (of a regular oven) and hoping for the best. it seems the first batch of the day is fine, but it goes downhill from there.

Thank you for the review! We are truly sorry that this convection oven has been a problem for you. A Customer Solutions Representative will be in contact with you to resolve this.

We purchased this for a concession trailer. The size is perfect for the counters in there, but it still holds two half sheet cakes. We have never used a convection oven, but this one is very simple to understand and easy to operate. It even comes with the rotisserie attachment. I have used it a couple of times and it worked great each time. A friend told me to make sure to turn the oven down about 25 degrees lower than the recipe called for, so I did and also make sure that you use an oven themometer in it to get the temp just right.
