We purchased this unit along with a 36" equipment stand & casters - it sits upon if perfectly. Along with a 48" gas connector kit, this unit installed hassle free. Love it, love it, love it. Thermostatic is the only way to go on griddles. No more just high, medium and low settings. This thing looks and feels like it was built to last. Just what you would expect from Vollrath. And it wasn't over priced. Hope this helps

I have been running this griddle for a few months and have been very satisfied. I originally chose this model since our restaurant is in Wisconsin and so is Vollrath. No complaints. The surface seems to be evenly heated. I'm not sure how accurate the thermostat is and haven't tested it. I have never had thermostat before so I am used to just playing with the dial anyways so depending what you're used to, you may or may not need to pay extra for the thermostat.
