The Panasonic NE-2180 Sonic Steamer has 1.6 cu. ft. of interior capacity, which can accommodate two full-size 4'' tall pans with no problems. The interior is versatile, too, as it comes complete with a removable center shelf that allows you to adjust the space based on what you need to steam.

Efficient Steaming

Thanks to its high wattage and large capacity, this unit can hold up to 2 amber steamer pans (sold separately). It uses these pans to create a sealed chamber in which water cannot escape. Then, the high wattage of the microwave causes the inherent moisture in the food to turn to water vapor, allowing it to steam itself. Some recipes may require a small amount of water to be placed in the bottom of the pan.

This has been working none stop in our deli kitchen. Simply put it is a microwave with internal components that allow water vapor to turn into steam faster then in a normal microwave. This means your meat gets stemmed before in gets nuked. It does a entire rack of ribs in just a little less then 2 minutes stemming hot and moist. It cooks cornbread better then an oven. We have been extremely happy with this purchase. . On the down side we broke the center glass and Webstraunt store has been 0 help in getting it replaced

Purchased this steamer to replace a traditional table top groen. We love the steamer. Installed before Christmas and use daily. We actually now use the steamer/microwave for sweet potatoes, russet potatoes, red potatoes, corn on the cobb, and traditional snow crab and shrimp. Overall pleased. Disappointed that the steamer did not come with pans, but other than that pretty satisfied.

when it comes to comes to micros you can buy cheap and get what you pay for or go with a micro that does the job fast and strong this unit is a super micro with lasting power
