CPG Range Operation and Maintenance

Hello everybody! My name is Alan Peterson and I am the equipment brand manager for CPG. Today we will be going over CPG range ovens. CPG offers range ovens in multiple different configurations. This one here is a six top burner, however, we also have models with griddle top and as well with broiler. To start with the ranges, each burner operates at 30,000 BTU. Griddle top operations with (2) 20,000 BTU burners. With that being said, the operation of these is very simple. Each burner has its own pilot light. The pilot lights can be changed (the size of it) whether you want a small or larger pilot flame. It can be changed with a flat head screwdriver and simply twisting the pilot valve there. The right side is going to make the pilot flame a little smaller, while turning it to the left will make your pilot flame a little larger. With any burner you are going to change the size of the flame simply pushing in left to right, twisting it, and getting it up to operate at the temperature you're looking for. These are manual ranges and burners, so in this case, there is no temperature dial here. It is simply going to be off of how much flame that you see that you think is appropriate for the recipe that you're cooking. Each of these burners has a cast iron grate on it. We recommend that you season each of these cast iron grates. We offer our Regal Foods Sprease cooking oil. I'd recommend taking it off of the unit, spraying it down, then when you put it back on, I'd turn the flame on and let it burn for about twenty minutes so that way its then properly seasoned and ready to go. This helps prevent rust and, as well too, if you happen to be cooking food directly on the burner that helps kind of give it a little more flavor. At the end of the day when you are done cooking, there is this crumb tray here that slides out. This provides easy cleaning for your stove top so when food, particles, and so on throughout the day fall through while you're cooking, it falls down onto this crumb tray and makes it easy at the end of the day to clean. For your oven, and operation of the oven, the pilot light and temperature dial is up here. This kick plate you lift up and pull down and the pilot light is down here. To light the pilot light, you are going to turn the temperature dial to the flame icon and it will give you a flame through the pilot hole. Once you see the flame lit, wait about ten to fifteen seconds and then from there let go and you're good to operate whatever temperature you're looking for. The oven operates with a 30,000 BTU burner. This provides a temperature range of 250 degrees up to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. When you first operate the oven there will be a smell that goes along with it and that is simply just factory grease, oils, and so on, throughout the manufacturing process that is left behind. Before operating and putting food in there we recommend putting the oven up to the full 550 degrees and then letting that smell dissipate and burn off. If your CPG range or oven is not level with your kitchen surface, each leg is adjustable. You will simply turn the bottom portion of the leg left or right to either raise or lower it a little bit. This helps make sure that you're equipment is operating on a level surface. There is four positions with two shelves, so if you're looking to operate with your food at different levels throughout the oven cavity you can do so. When it comes to any of your CPG equipment, we do provide different parts and accessories should you need them or require them. For instance, we have replacement knobs, whether it be the oven temperature knob or your regular burner knobs. We also have other replacement grates, burners, pilot valves, and the like. When it comes to accessories we even have the salamander broiler up top and we also have casters to make sure if you'd like easier cleaning of your oven, being able to have mobile and move around, that makes it a little bit easier for cleaning your kitchen at the end of the night. For cleaning your oven, we recommend using formula D - degreaser, water, and soap, keeping it simple. There are the racks and the shelves, we recommend pulling those out and cleaning them probably about weekly would be sufficient. Doing this kind of preventative maintenance is key to making sure that your range oven operates efficiently and throughout the lifetime of you using it. As well, it keeps it looking nice. With CPG we offer a full one-year parts & labor warranty on all of our equipment. In the case of cast iron components we offer a 90 day warranty to cover those parts as well. Many gas equipment manufacturers need to make adjustments to the equipment so it operates correctly at elevations over 2,000 feet. Sometimes we can special order from the manufacturer and have your cooking equipment delivered ready-to-go, but in cases where your unit is in stock and waiting to ship, you’ll need to have a qualified service technician come to your location and alter your unit at the time of installation so that it is compatible with a higher elevation.
