We bought this attachment because the aluminum version got all cruddy after going in the dishwasher. We now have 4 different dough hook attachments. This is MUCH easier to clean and is simpler to wipe down to scrape dough off of it. For some reason though the dough really sticks to the white coating if it is left to dry before washing. Just a tip to try to wash right away after use if your kitchen schedule allows. Otherwise, this is a very smart buy. While this basic shaped hook is nice, I prefer the white coated corkscrew shaped one, which is also for sale by WebstaurantStore.com. The white coated dough hook is a very attractive and useful attachment for the kitchen aid stand mixer. It kneads perfectly! Saves a lot of time and no sore muscles. You’ll never want to knead dough by hand again.

these coated hooks only work on the smaller kitchenaid models and that a bummer because i do a lot of large batch recipes and i wish i could have them on the bigger versions. theyre really resilient and strong and they are dishwasher safe which is a bonus
