Mixed feelings on this unit: It is powerful but does not deliver the control I was hoping for especially when using the "temp" control setting. I was hoping I could use the temp setting to maintain a steady temperature like when sautéing. However, the delay between what the sensor under the glass senses and the surface temperature of the pan is huge. This results in the pan getting way to hot in the first several minutes of use and in general never really tracking with the temperature of the pan. Another example of not having control I want is that although there are 30 power levels, anything over about power level 8 is way too hot. Most frying/cooking takes place at power levels 4-6. The one use there is control is when using the probe for liquids. I think the accuracy is +/- only a few degrees. Also, just to mention, the timer is only a timer and does not turn off the unit.
