Attention CA Residents:I haven't the faintest idea why this is classified as a tenderizer, but I can see why it may be utilized for that purpose and maybe even makes sense. But to be quite honest, this is also great as a steak weight when cooking meat and works well for that purpose. I purchased the 2.2 lb version and might get the heavier weight as well.
