Carnival King CM16DBL 16" Dual Steel Crepe Maker - 208/240V

Absolutely garbage at any volume more than one crepe every five minutes. We had two of these units from WebstaurantStore and are still trying to get a refund. We had to order them far in advance because our store is at a cruise ship port of call in Alaska. Doing so made us past the 30 day return policy. We had to close two hours in to our grand opening because these machines drop 3-5 degrees F every time you pour batter on them, and they take 5 minutes to get back up to temp. If you do any kind of volume, these are complete junk. We had to turn away so many customers over the week it took us to get replacement units. (Waring single burners, which are fantastic). WebstaurantStore really let us down on this one.

Like what temprature to use the machine on for the batter ! I did seasoning and i did everything it doesnt work the crepe batter sticks so bad ! And it takes forevrr to heat up

So, it works pretty well. If I didn't get it for the price I did, I'd probably give it a 3 star, but let's not expect a $1,000 machine for 1/5 the price. So first the negative. I don't like that there's a gap between the cooktop and the rest of the machine. Its an easy way to get ingredients down in the machine. Second, the burner doesn't reach to the outside of the griddle top. You can tell because you can look underneath since there's a gap, plus when you season it, it doesn't season completely to the edges since it doesn't get hot enough there. The unit is impressive. It's heft gives it a feeling of a well-built item. Most of the weight being in the cooking surface you'd think that it would hold heat well. But that's where this item falls short. When cooking a large batch of crepes, you immediately begin to notice that each crepe has a different look, texture, etc. That's because the thermostat doesn't seem to keep up with the loss of heat as batter is poured onto the surface. I tried making crepes on a Wolf Griddle (on a 60" dual fuel range). The Wolf had no issues whatsoever and all crepes were consistent. With this item you need to let the cook surface reheat before you can make the next crepe. Not particularly efficient or timely. As I stated, nicely built, but just needs more heat oomph and better thermostatic control.

I have made 32,000 crepes in my career. I used a Krampouze machine and was hesitant to purchase this. At 1/4 of the price of the French machine, I took the risk. It was smooth, no skipping, and very forgiving for my students. The stainless steel body was easy to clean. This was superior to the French machine. For the cost factor, we can afford to have four machines for the price of one french machine. We are able to transport these easily and have made a catering cart. If we replaced these annually, we would still be ahead of the game. If you need a good machine that won't break the bank, get this one. We plan on expanding to a food truck and this fits the bill.

Use this machine 5 days a week in my shop. I've had it for almost two years and I'll be buying more with my expansion.

I've purchased 5 of these for use in my stores. Three of them failed and no longer power on after only a day or two of being put into use. The 2 that do work are fine but from my experience you have less than a 50% chance your griddle will work.

Product is great and warms up fast . But i am not sure why they don't put a sticker on the machine that it is CSA or even ETL approved for when inspection time comes around the inspectors don't give us a headache for the information.

I bought this as our first crepe maker and unfortunately it was damaged and replaced quickly. It ended up working well

This machine worked great for 6 months(just a little past the warranty limit). We bought it 11/24/21 and last week it started heating up uncontrollably! No way to use it and barely past the warranty! Not a pricey machine but definitely not worth only 6 1/2 months of use! Don't buy this machine if you don't want to have to replace it every 6 months!!

We use two of these daily and they are solidly built and heat fairly quickly.

The crepe maker itself works great however cleaning is a trick. No amount of grease removing cleaner or following the instructions has worked.

I have to say that carnival king makes some incredible products. This crepe maker is superb and even comes with the basic tools you need to get crepe making started.

I purchased this crepe iron 15 months ago, and I've put approximately 300 hours of use into it. Still running strong! It's easy to use, easy to clean. I thought at first that the handle around the outside was sort of ugly-- but its great for mobility-- moving the crepe from counter to counter, especially when it is still hot. I like this crepe iron so much that I actually purchased a second one!

We like this Crepe Maker! we have 3, they are very easy to clean. The only thing is that If you make more than 10 in a row it gets to long to get the crepe ready but I recommend it!

The Carnival King Crepe Maker arrives in a very heavy box that is reinforced with wood. My box was missing the batter spreader and the spatula. As soon as I contacted customer service it was promptly sent out to me. The spreader that comes with the machine is a metal one. I have yet to figure out how this spreader works as it always rips the crepe during spreading. I would honestly recommend getting a wooden spreader as it is easier to use. There was a smallish rough spot on the cooking surface when it arrived. I used a scouring pad and water to gently buff it down and it has caused no problems. Customer service told me if the spot caused any issues that they would replace the unit. The 110 v version takes around 15-20 minutes to heat to the proper cooking temperature. We upgraded from a single to a dual crepe maker after sales soared in our shop. It's convenient to be able to use only one side on slower days or to have both sides heated up on our busy days. It is easy to use and easy to clean. A perfect maker for anyone looking to start making crepes.

it’s our first time using a actual Crepe maker of any kind. It took a bit to get the hang of but once we figured it out I prefer it to the pan method. Only minor complaint is it takes awhile to get hot but once there it cooks quick. So far it’s a great product and would definitely recommend it.

we bought this one with the Krampouz one and we like the Krampouz one better. However, for the price this one is a steal. As long as the temperature settings are placed correctly this is a good buy. It doesn't heat up as fast but its not a big issue unless you are busy

it takes 30 minutes for Machine to be ready for making a perfect Crepe. in continuous use's you need to make the temperature in highest level to sustain the heat for your desire crepe outcome.

Great crepe maker. It is a little larger than I had expected. But it works really well. You do have to have the temperature up and the plate completely heated before you can make those perfect crepes but once it gets going there is no stopping. I wish they had the smaller version and I could do an exchange but this surely does the job. And of course sent out by webstaurantstore very quickly and safely.

I received my Crepe Maker but it was missing the Spreader and Spatula that were indicated in the description as being part of the purchase. Unfortunately I did not realize this until after the 30 day window and will not need to purchase these items separately (we did not use the crepe maker immediately). Once I order them and can use the crepe maker I'm sure it will be able to be enjoyed by our customers.
