Avantco HDS-175 175 Dog / 40 Bun Hot Dog Steamer - 120V, 1200W

We have been selling steamed hot dogs since the 1970's using Star steamers. 2 years ago we switched over to Avantco steamers. We own 4 of them. This steamer is much more affordable and the replacement parts are very reasonably priced. As long as you follow the instruction and have some knowledge of how a hot dog steamer works this one will work just fine. If you run it on high (175) all day you will burn out the electronics and element. After it heats up just turn it down to 150 and you'll be fine. Putting 100 hot dogs in at a time I would not recommend. The middle ones take for ever to heat up. We use 50 at a time. If your drain plug leaks than you most likely put it on too tight.

This was one of the the best item I purchase for me business I would get this item if I was you. It keep the hot dogs and buns fresh.

I’m really disappointed. The machine stop heating the water after two months. I bought it at the end of November and not stop working. I’m not sure what is the warranty. I don’t recommend it.

This product was purchased primarily for a food booth at a heavily attended festival. We used it for steaming All Beef Hot Dogs (only) and a few buns, here and there. Overall the product is very functional, but I was disappointed that it didn't appear to hold up under pressure. After using for a while, the unit did not heat up product as quickly or efficiently as it does in the beginning, and I wasn't even loading to capacity of 175 hot dogs. At any given time, we maybe had 50-60 hot dogs steaming at one time, which it would keep them at temp once we got them heated - but getting them to acceptable ranges was a chore from a refrigerated/cold hot dog. Also the units top shelf does not remove from the unit (rack does, but shelf does not) so adding water to the unit and cleaning is a bit challenging. Good, economical product for smaller events where food turnover/throughput is minimal and you have time to get food up to servable temps in between loads.

Worked really good for the hot dogs and sausage, but the buns came out super soggy. Had to wrap them in foil to keep the softness and dryness.

This thing is great. Holds plenty of hot dogs and keeps them hot. Buns stay just right. I think the lids could have a little better of a design to stay on. They do seem to fall in easy even with the support bar.

Above expectations, I use this as a part of my small party catering business. Usually for kids parties and this steamer worked like a charm, very easy setup and clean up which is very important to me. And more importantly it kept the hot dogs and buns nice and warm so I did not have to constantly be making more and more to be served hot cause this machine does it for me. May have to upgrade to the bigger steamer soon.

We use this at all of our events. Heats up quickly and provides ample amount of food. Easy setup and clean up. Easy setup and storage.

This is awesome machine for parties. The smell that it make when the dogs and buns are in make the people at the party want a hot dog.

Smaller than some machines, this Aventco machine holds as many hot dogs...or more....than the more expensive machines. Easy to set up and clean, we like the way it saves space. Adjusting the temperature, hot dogs stay fresh for a long time.

This is a great size if you are limited on space. It keeps the buns nice, warm and soft. The hotdogs are ok not as hot as I would like but they will make do.

We bought this to use for our HOA community events and really loved it. Easy to use, quick set up and break down. Does an awesome job steaming the hot dogs and keeping the buns soft! We love this item and this website and look forward to purchasing more!

This baby does the job. Keeps the dogs hot and the buns warm. The bottom buns will always get hard after awhile, so sacrifice a couple to the hot dog gods.

We have used this and like it as far as functionality and ease of use/cleaning. The only thing I wish is that the hotdog side was bigger. We don't really steam the buns except for one at a time because they get mushy really quick.

This steamer is fast. From cold to serving in 20 minutes. Easy to disassemble and clean. Thermostat is handy when working with different kinds of buns. Recommend.

This item is the second one that i had purchased. It is of the best quality and very easy to operate and clean. I would highly recommend this product

Only lasted a little over a month and stopped working

The first time the package came damaged including the contents. The second hotdog warmer the heating element didn’t work. The third hotdog warmer it worked once and quit. This product is junk. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Trash. Bought one, didn't keep heat. Webstaurant sent replacement - didn't work either. We work in a small trailer so this was not a fun task setting up, etc. A month later, we still don't have a hot dog machine.
