Hi, this is Julie Bashore from the Sugar Arts Institute. Let’s have fun with some of the Ateco piping tips. Working with their disposable piping bags that come on a roll, they tear off really easily, I like to work with the smaller 12” bags but they also have 18”. Working with a coupler, remove the nut from the base of the coupler and place the base in the bag as tightly as you possibly can. Working with a pair of scissors, above the screw marks, just cut the edge of the bag and remove that. And then you’re going to choose the piping tube that you’d like to work with, place it on the top of the coupler, and screw it down firmly. This is a piping bag stand; it’s very convenient, especially if you’re piping alone or you don’t want to interrupt anyone to fill the bags, it holds the bags really well and you can slip your icing in there. This is the short-ended Ateco spatula which is quite wide so it’s really convenient for picking up the buttercream. Pull the bag up, place it on the table, and spread the buttercream down to the end. And then of course it’s important not to forget to burp the bag. This piping tip that I’m using is a ruffling pipe piping tip, and it’s absolutely amazing how quickly it works. Have a look, come in close. Doesn’t that give an awesome ruffle? Let’s work with another tip. This is the shell tip; don’t forget to burp your bag. This is great for a border; in fact, I sometimes use it on the edge of my ruffle. It gives a really nice shell design. The tip itself is curved so it gives a nice puffy shell appearance to it. Ateco has a new set that they’ve brought out: polycarbonate plastic piping tips, they are large tips, very strong and very precise in the edging. This one is a basket weave design; it really makes an awesome border. Place the bag over the holder, again, don’t forget to push the butter cream all the way to the edge and burp the bag. It has two edges, a flat edge and a scalloped edge so this makes a great ribbon design; you can also wiggle it or make just a ribbon and also wiggle this. Flip it over and wiggle. Great for basket weave.

    I love this tip. Everyone is always asking what tip I used. It reallly give my cupcakes a unique look. I'm really looking forward to purchasing more.
    This piping tip is Great for cupcake frostings.Its just the right size(not to small nor not too huge). the outcome of the icing is “clean cut” or should I say neat.
    I love to bake and decorate so this was another tool for me to experiment l am not a qualified decorator but the helps me do a better job.
    Good quality piping tip. Makes nice star shaped flowers. The tip is really wide though so be prepared to have extra piping bags that you cut cut to fit this
    This is a great piping tip that can be used to create a variety of frosting styles on top of cupcakes. It can be used to pipe a single layer rosette or swirled up higher for a more classic cupcake frosting look. I also like piping it straight down to create a drop star or if more pressure is applied and for longer it creates a pretty ruffled blob style of frosting. The tip is sturdy so that the shape of the closed star isn't easily altered. I also like the way the top rip sticks out slightly. This helps to keep the piping tip secure the few times I'm not using a coupler.
    I love these large tips for piping my cupcakes as well as Cake borders. They look great and will be purchasing more soon. I recommend them.
    I love this Ateco 848 #27 Closed Star Piping Tip (August Thomsen). Very good quality, large enough to decorate your cake and cupcakes giving them a professional look with minimum work...I will buy again...
    With a simple pipe and pull, I can create unique borders really quickly without sacrificing the look of my cakes. Fits into a coupler of the correct size with a simple placement and is ready to go.
    Closed star #8 pastry tube is one of the larger pastry tubes. It's produces a rather large design that look really beautiful on cakes and stands out very nicely. The pastry tube is also very high quality that will last for a very long time.
    This pastry tube has a 5/8" wide tip. This tube can easily connect using the Ateco coupler. The tube is made of stainless steel and has a closed star design. Our pastry team has a variety of shapes and widths of tubes. Very important for the creative pastry chef.
    I used these to make cream puff as I can just squeeze right into the middle of the puff then finish them off easily by topping it off with another puff.
    I bought many sizes of pastry tube from this website and so far I am happy with all products. This pastry tube is easy to clean and easy to dry.

    Ateco 848 5/8" Closed Star #8 Pastry Tube (August Thomsen) is a lovely item that's fun to use and is sturdier than other ones I've come across.
    You can make some wonderful flower designs quick and easy with this pastry tube. Works great for cupcake decorating or floral swirls on cakes. Be careful not to bend the prongs when washing, though.
    A perfect tip that allows you to create wonderful great big swirls unlike other tips where the swirls look sloppy and dissolved this point is persice
    This is my favorite frosting tip. I have several so I can just leave them on the bag with frosting and reuse later. I freeze the frosting and just put it out on the counter a bit before I'm ready to use it again.
    This tip is used for large cakes and decorations. It has clearly defined lines and markings. Great quality at an amazing price point. You can not go wrong with Ateco.

    I saw someone post pictures of different cupcake swirls on a blog and they mentioned that this one was their favorite and I have to agree. The siwrls are just so pretty in this size!
