This is a great stone to cut your teeth on! If you're like me then when you're just starting out making pizzas by transferring them to a hot stone with a peel you're bound to rip a hole in a few crusts and get sauce on the stone. This (or getting any significant amount of liquid on it) can break any stone when you've got the oven up at the temperatures needed to get the oven spring and crispiness you're looking for. The affordability of this stone means that you don't have to worry about being out of a lot of money if this happens. Plus, it still works if it ends up in a few pieces! In addition to the low price, it's big enough to make a decent sized pie, however it was still small enough to fit into my efficiency-sized oven. I prefer this rectangular shaped style Read More

LOVE this stone for baking pizza at home. Unlike some of the reviews, I had no problems with cracking and have used my, now well-seasoned, stone in both gas and electric ovens. I think the key to breaking it into high temperatures without cracking is to heat it very gradually. I heated it to 350 and 400 on two separate occasions before going higher, then when I was ready to get to 450/500 I did so over the course of a couple hours the first time. It yields an awesome, crispy pizza crust!

Stone worked well for about a month. Guess its not really made for what i was using it for. after a month it has cracked into 4 pieces. I was using it in a TurboChef Tornado oven as a cheaper replacement to the overpriced TurboChef stone. Guess i should have spent the extra money on the real deal.

Thank you for your review, Chris. We're sorry to hear this stone didn't work out for you, but you bring up some good points that might help others. We definitely don't suggest using a pizza stone in a rapid cook oven that isn't made for that rapid cook oven. Pizza stones are hard, but brittle. Most pizza stones need to be heated from room temperature with the oven, to prevent thermal shock breaking the stone, but a rapid cook oven like a TurboChef heats up too quickly to allow this stone to heat properly. One other issue that causes breakage in pizza stones is moisture. They are porous, and water expands differently than the stone, which can also cause breakage. In addition, ceramic stones are generally rated for up to a maximum of 570 degrees, so that may have come into play in your TurboChef oven. For anyone reading this, we recommend our guide linked on the right side of this page titled, "How to Use a Pizza Stone", which goes over some of these things and more. If you need help finding the correct pizza stone for your TurboChef, please reach out to our customer service team. Thank you!

This economical pizza stone does an awesome job baking pizzas, flatbreads, and more. The pizza stone is almost square, but take note that it is actually rectangular and put it in with the wide size parallel to the oven door to help it fit better in a residential oven. Make sure you heat the stone slowly to prevent cracking.

This is a super sturdy and useful pizza stone for many applications. It fits in a standard kitchen oven and holds a decent sized pizza. I also use it for biscuits and scones - great crust every time.

Exactly as described. 15"x12", made of ceramic. Slightly rough on the top, has a slight pattern on the bottom (maybe from the mold or for strength?). I purchased two, one for each rack in the oven and so far they are working well. The largest difference is in retaining and maintaining the oven heat, I notice it is heat cycling less often as I am making my breads. Works as intended, price is right.

This is a great and inexpensive pizza stone. I use it at 450-500 degrees in my home oven to make pizza. I preheat it for a half hour in the oven prior to cooking. It's not really thick and heavy, but I like that because it makes it easier to store and remove from the cupboard.

We actually ordered 2. One cracked the very first day the other has lasted quite a while. Good for low volume pizza and flat breads.

This stone made the house smell horrible. Smell like chemicals or something Smelled like chemicals or something I tried cooking it off at a hi temp and rinsing it with hot water. U used it for over a month before I threw it in the trash. Maybe it was just the stone I received. I have been using another brand for a long time and I’m going to stick with it.

Bought this on 9/16/2016 and it has held up well. It is almost solid black now, and it has some pooled oil dried on top in places, but I scrape it with a flexible metal tool and steel wool it to clean unwanted buildup off of it. I will put a little soap on it now, but didn't early on before it got seasoned well. I use it for breads, cookies, and other pastries. If they have any leakage potential, I just lay down a wax paper or use a silicone sheet on top to allow the sugary cinnamon goo to caramelize and be easier to remove. (Not because I don't want it on my stone, but because I do want it on my plate) I love these stones for cooking because you can't burn stuff on them. You can overcook things, but the bottoms of stuff almost never gets black or even dark brown. They cook pizzas pretty well, too. These are the only baking sheets you need.

Awesome basic pizza stone, has a decent weight behind it and feels like good quality for the price. I have used it a couple of dozen times with no signs of craving/warping. I would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap pizza stone.

Outstanding Baking Stone American Metalcraft STONE12 15" x 12" Rectangular Ceramic Economy Pizza Stone I purchased the American Metalcraft STONE12 15" x 12" Rectangular size to fit into my Breville Countertop Convection Oven, this pizza stone’s porous surface draws moisture away from the dough for crispier crusts. Its special construction also distributes heat evenly across the entire pizza to maintain an even baking temperature. Perfectly sized. Clean with spatula to remove any debris, then wipe with warm water only. The frame makes it easy to handle but you must use gloves it handling hot. I use a pizza peel to remove the pizza, then let this cool in the oven before removing. Excellent stone that works in oven and on grill. I personally prefer putting this in the oven, then pre-heat oven. Allow the stone to get hot for 30 minutes.

The pizza stone is made of solid material and holds heat well. It is difficult to clean properly and holds stains, but still functions well despite this.
