Workshop Vac: How to Clean the Filter

Workshop Vac: How to Clean the Filter

Workshop Wet/Dry Vacs presents "How to Clean and Maintain a Wet / Dry Vac Filter". Step 1: Unplug the vac. To prevent accidents, always unplug the power cord before cleaning or removing the filter.

Step 2: Access and remove filter. Access by unlatching and removing lid from dust drum. Then, remove the filter. This process varies and is covered more thoroughly in your owner's manual.

Step 3: Gently tap the filter against the inside wall of your dust drum and the debris will loosen and fall.

NOTE: It is recommended to clean in an open, ventilated area. Because cleaning will put dust in the air. If you have allergies or health concerns it may be prudent to replace the filter.

Remove debris. Be sure to examine for damage such as rips and tears. If damaged, replace before use. Another method to remove debris is to use compressed air. Set a low pressure to prevent damaging filter.

Step 4: Clean with water. To clean a wet filter, or other appropriate filter, run water through the filter from a hose or spigot. Take care that water pressure from the hose is not strong enough to damage filter.

Step 5: Dry filter. Allow filter to completely dry out before storing or using.

For better vacuum performance, keep your filters clean and free from rips or tears to help protect vacuum performance and life. For additional, more detailed information, refer to the WORKSHOP Whitepaper on the subject and your owner's manual.

Workshop Vac: How to Change the Filter

Workshop Vac: How to Change the Filter

Workshop Wet/Dry Vacs presents "How to Change or Replace a Wet / Dry Vac Filter". Step 1: Access the filter. Access by unlatching and removing the motor cover from the dust drum. This process varies, but typically this is the same steps used when emptying the vac.

Step 2: Remove the filter. Using the patented Qwik Lock Fastening System makes installing and removing your filter quick, easy, and secure. First, hold the filter tabs of the Qwik Lock filter in each hand. With one thumb on the Qwik Lock stud, which protrudes through the integrated filter plate, lift up on the filter tabs while pushing down on the stud. This action will cause the filter to release from the filter cage. Slide filter off cage.

Step 3: While this will be more thoroughly covered in another video, if filter is in overall good shape, clean filter in one of the following ways: in a well ventilated area, tap filter on the side of a trash can to dislodge debris, blow off the filter using compressed air, or wash with water.

Step 4: Replace the filter. Replacing a filter is similar to removing it in reverse. Slide the Qwik Lock Filter over the filter cage. Align the small center hole in the top of the filter over the Qwik Lock stud on the filter cage. Press down on the outside edge of the filter to seat rubber gasket. Press firmly on top of the filter near the stud to snap over the ball on the end of the stud.

Step 5: Continue use. If filter is properly attached, return and latch the motor cover onto the dust drum. Continue use in accordance with your owner's manual.

For additional, more detailed information, refer to the WORKSHOP Whitepaper on the subject and your owner's manual.
