Victorinox 7.6345 4" Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Poultry Shears

Beware. I was excited when the victorinox heavy duty poultry shears arrived because of the heavy weight. Unfortunately, the product is poorly designed and is made of slippery metal that rusts after a day in the the dish drainer. The shears do have a strong, heavy duty spring, but there is nothing that stops them from snapping wide open - which is far too wide to regrip even with large hands. While the handles appear to have groves for added grip, they quickly become slippery when attempting to cut up a chicken. To top it off, the shears are unable to cut the common plastic kryovac packing. To summarize, I now have poorly designed, rusty and unusable shears. Pictures attached to show how wide the spring holds them open and the rust that occurred with typical cleaning and air drying. Aside from the heft, there are no redeeming qualities.

We were excited when we saw this brand of shears and used it once, and then the second time it completely fell apart - definitely not worth the money for one use!!

I also picked a pair of these up and they worked fine for a little over a year and then the spring broke . Would not recommend if someone is looking for something that is long lasting

I was super excited to see these and had high hopes that they would be a good addition to my chicken processing toolkit. These sheers are clearly not meant to break down anything more than a Cornish cross with their soft, young bones. They absolutely could not handle the bones of my heritage birds and really felt dangerous to use while I was butchering after harvest. The handles are really narrow and I had to open the shears completely to get to the bone cutter. At that point the handles were so far apart that I could not easily attempt to close them with one hand. A little chicken juice/slippery factor while wearing nitrile gloves + narrow splayed handles + bone cutter that would not cut bones = me stopping after 1 bird and switching back to a cheaper pair of shears to finish the job. Would not buy again.

They worked great for about a half dozen times and the spring broke I did not see a warranty on the web so I emailed a coustmer solution rep and the reply was there is no warranty and they don't sell replacement springs but I can buy a new pair. I buy a lot of items from the Web and was surprised with the response since I thought they had a life time warranty. It's probably the luck of the draw and I got a bad spring other than the spring they look like they will last a long time, but that's what you expect when you spend that much money on a pair of shears.

These are some seriously strong poultry shears. They can cut through anything with little effort. I really like that it is all stainless steal, makes for easy cleaning and sanitizing.

Excellent quality. It is very heavy weight and of good construction so should last a long time with heavy use. I would certainly reorder this Poultry Shear.

I love these shears! They make breaking down a turkey or chicken so easy. I brought these over to my parents' house to use for a dinner, and they almost wouldn't let me take them home. I'm ordering my dad a pair right now. They're perfect for his arthritic hands.

We purchased these for processing our own chickens on the farm, they're sharp and convenient. They are super sharp so I would highly recommend adding safety cut metal gloves to use with this product. They can also be used for other meats, not just chicken.

Awesome! Great poultry shears. Super sharp, cuts through joints easily and quickly. Comfortable grip and extra sturdy. Nice and easy to hold. I also like the locking mechanism that makes them easy to store/hang.

This is a very well built solid set of poultry shears for a great price. This product will stand the test of time. The Swiss craftsmanship is very apparent in this set of shears.

There are certain situations when a pair of shears is just what you need. These shears are great and perfect for such occasions. They have stayed sharp and moved very fluidly since we opened them.

This sturdy stainless steel pair of poultry shears makes breaking down chicken a lot easier! Its a lot more affordable than the Wusthof look a like! Same quality!!
