My new cast iron feels rough in some areas. Is this normal?
Yes. This is a result of the sand casting process. With use and replenishment of the seasoning, the pan will become smoother. For concerns about roughness, it is OK to use a fine grade of sandpaper to smooth out the rough areas. Make sure to re-season the item before using.
These are FANTASTIC!!!! I initially got them to make mini personal pizzas that my boys could have fun personalizing but since then, they've become SO much more useful! The quality is EXCELLENT & my son & I have had SO much fun using them not only for pizza experiments but grilled cheeses, pancakes, you name it! And when they're notbin use, they're going to be such a great accent to the iron decor I'm (slowly) incorporating in the kitchen!
