Taylor 8791 TempRite Dishwasher Plate Thermometer

This was a great product while it worked, but after only a few months it stopped working. There was water inside the unit, including the screen. The battery cover appears to be the vulnerable area, if we bought another one (which we will not), I'd tape over the battery cover with waterproof tape or seal it with silicone to try to waterproof it better.

We purchased this thermometer on 4/10/2026 and started using it on 4/16/2026 and since yesterday 4/27/2026 it no longer works! Very disappointed since we only used it once a day. I will never recommend this product.

Bought this to save money over disposable strips. Used it probably 6 times and it won’t turn on now! Don’t waste your time! Temp also didn’t appear to be accurate. Consistently measure low but disposable strip hit temp every time.

Stopped working after about 30 minutes of using it. Idk that the product is bad, it just looked like the seal on the battery compartment isn't water tight.

Worked for a few months and then stopped. Tried changing the battery and it seemed to work before running it through another dish cycle and it died completely.

Unit need to be calibrated and the temperature readings are way off from the actual temperature. It will be nice to know how to calibrate it.

I work in a nursing home and have purchased many of these. They are great when working correctly, however, after a few months they stop working and water gets inside from the battery cover. If you remove the battery, it sometimes helps if it can sits for days drying out. After about a year, they need to be replaced.

Dependable and sturdy so far haven't have any problems.

These are absolutely wonderful for checking temperatures of our dishwashers. The health inspectors always comment that they like to see these being used.

I've never been this excited about a thermometer. I had purchased a maximum registering thermometer in the past, but it was a stick model that easily got confused with other thermometers. Not so with this beautiful yellow soft-sided beast with a sleek appearance. Holding the button down long enough changes from C to F. Power it on, add it to the load of dishes, and read the temperature. But wait! It gets better! The maximum temp holds for a while, so no waiting impatiently for the dishwasher to finish the cycle and rip it out to check immediately. You can have a leisurely cup of tea while waiting.

Great product. Easy to use and easy to read. Simply put it in with the dishwasher and bam temp is read. Large display screen. I would recommend that his product.
