Sentry Safe: How to Remove the Shipping Screw

Sentry Safe: How to Remove the Shipping Screw

This video will show how to remove the shipping screw inside your SentrySafe Fire Safe. Most of our fire safes ship with a screw inserted into the door to prevent the door from being locked during shipping. This screw must be removed prior to first-time use. Ready? Here we go:

First, find the yellow tag marked screw removal located on the inside of your safe door. Note that the shipping screw may be in one of several locations on the inside of the door. This video will demonstrate how to remove the screw from one location. Follow the instructions on the yellow tag to remove the shipping screw. If the tag has been removed, simply use a Phillips-head screwdriver, and rotate the screw counterclockwise until the screw falls out. Once the screw is removed, please be sure to test your combination with the door open to ensure the safe will lock and open properly. For additional how-to videos, please visit SentrySafe.com.

Sentry Safe: How to Program Your Fingerprint

Sentry Safe: How to Program Your Fingerprint

This video will explain how to program the fingerprint scanner function on your SentrySafe Fire Safe. Follow these simple steps and your scanner will be programmed before you know it! Ready? Here we go:

Before we begin, please make sure to note these three functions of the fingerprint scanner: a green light will blink to indicate the safe is in program mode. Each user will have the availability to program two fingerprints. Turning the key pad sound off may make it more difficult to use the fingerprint scanner as a single beep indicates your finger has been scanned. Now locate the owner's manual and navigate to the heading—"Primary Fingerprint User." To register a primary fingerprint, first ensure the door is OPEN. Press the [P] button. Then, enter the 5-digit factory code. This safe is set to 44183. The blue light will flash to indicate the fingerprint sensor is ready to scan a new fingerprint. Then, swipe the first finger five to ten times on the scanner. Between each swipe, you should hear a single beep to indicate the fingerprint was scanned. When the safe has registered your first fingerprint, the green proceed-light will flash three times, and you will hear three beeps.

To register a second primary-user fingerprint, immediately repeat the finger swiping process with another finger, swiping it five to ten times on the scanner, noting again that you should hear a single beep between each swipe to indicate the fingerprint was scanned. Press the [C] button to complete fingerprint registration. Be sure to test your new fingerprint several times, with the door in the OPEN position, prior to closing and locking your safe.

To "Delete A Primary Fingerprint User," press the [P] button. Enter the 5-digit factory code found on the back of this owner's manual. Swipe either programmed fingerprint once. Then, press [C]. This will delete both fingerprints. Please note the electronic lock will NOT indicate that it has deleted the user's fingerprint—please test to make sure that it has been deleted.
