Regency offers stainless steel in a variety of gauges and types that correspond to different levels of strength and durability. By understanding the gauge and type, you can easily determine what equipment is best for your application.
Regency stainless steel is available in three gauges: fourteen, sixteen, and eighteen. Gauge refers to the thickness of the metal, with the thickest being the lowest number, and therefore the strongest. That makes fourteen-gauge stainless steel thicker than sixteen- or eighteen-gauge stainless steel. This also means that fourteen-gauge is heavy-duty, sixteen-gauge is standard-duty, and eighteen-gauge is light-duty.
Types of stainless steel include three-oh-four and four-thirty. Type refers to the chemical make-up of the material. Heavy- and standard-duty products are available in type three-oh-four stainless steel, as it contains both chromium and nickel for corrosion-resistance. Select light-duty products also come in type three-oh-four, while the rest are made with type four-thirty stainless steel. This type contains chromium and no nickel, offering less corrosion-resistance than type three-oh-four. Four-thirty stainless steel is also magnetic, which can be a nice added benefit while you're working.

Besides arriving in a torn box and having two dents in the side and back, this purchase was a total fail. Now after having it installed and plumbed in, such a waste of efforts! As they say you get what you pay for. There is a reason why this is one of the cheapest sinks on the site, We have used this sink for less than a week and it is already showing signs of rust. I do not expect this sink to last as for more than even a year before we have holes in it from the rust. Furthermore the sink does not drain well unless you level the sink perfectly (when I say perfectly I mean it can not even be off by a hair, otherwise water will stand on the corner of the sink. If I could do this purchase all over again, I would have added a few hundred dollars for something that will last for a long time.Thank you for your feedback! The reason for this low rating is that the sink began to develop rust on the inside weld seams just days after installation (see photo). At that point, it hadn't been used in production and was not subject to any kind of substance that would compromise its surface. After several communications with customer service we learned that this was essentially a utility sink designed for "back-of-house" purposes. We were also informed that this sink should be dried after each use. We found none of the ensuing customer service responses to be satisfying. Granted, at its price point we should have seen this coming, but we feel that more information on this product's shortcomings should have been published up front.We appreciate your review, Kenneth. Fantastic! I was looking for a Stainless Steel Chill tank for processing chickens. Found this huge sink here. Fast shipping. Packaged well. Set up and used it today. Keeps the water cold and the ice icey! Love it. I will buy another. It held 5 25lb Turkeys.

This sink has been great, we have it out on our deck for gardening and grilling. It's very large so it's easy to immerse all the grill grates, soak them and rinse them without making a mess in the kitchen. Since this is at our home we wanted a sink that would look good. We didn't need a sink this large but I think this looks better than all the sinks with built-in drainboards and I haven't missed having a drainboard. It's also a relative deal because it ships Ground instead of Common Carrier like some that have the basin mounted to the base. The package ours arrived in was a wreck but the sink was fine except for one small dent which for me wasn't worth going through the hassle of an exchange for.

We purchased this sink mainly to be used as a wash tub for larger, fragile items not suitable for a dish machine but we also intend to use it as a soaking tub for plates and glassware. The metal is on the thin side and it is flimsier that I would like, but we were on a tight budget and the price was right. My only issue I have is the standing water in the back of the sink that does not drain. Nothing a quick swipe of a squeegee can't take care of though. Good for the price.
