Scratch and Dent Waring WW200 Double Belgian Waffle Iron / Maker - 120V

A very mixed review here.....on one hand, this waffle iron works well and had all the proper specifications we needed for our waffles....on the other hand, the non-stick coating didn't last very long and the heating elements started to cook unevenly only after a couple months where the irons were used for 5 days only in those couple months for 8 hours straight. Tried to email Waring but haven't got any reply. It may be a function of our special waffle batter that kills the nonstick coating as it is very sticky but I'd expect a "commercial" piece of equipment to perform more consistently than it has. Take this review with a grain of salt though because we produce a very specific product. I'm sure regular waffle batter would allow the machine to last longer but it hasn't worked out for the long term for us.

Well stamp my forehead "Idiot", the first one I purchased... yes the first one, I began to have problems with and because it only lasted to "Very" shortly after the warranty Waring and Webstaurant was like "Oh well sorry". Here's where the idiot part comes in, I liked the waffle iron so I tried it again and bought another Waring (Bad Choice). Shortly after warranty ended I started having problems, buzzer stopped working first, then started burning one side and barely cooked the other, I found my cooks had to shut it off to keep it from overheating. So here again I find myself looking to buy another waffle iron to replace the Waring. It diffidently will not be a Waring, I know that for sure, over 900 bucks down the drain. I say buyer beware on Waring !

We have purchased more than one of these. No idea why we kept trying. They do amazing right up until the problems others have mentioned. Uneven cooking. One side stops heating so it only cooks on one side. We also had issues with the non-stick surface until we changed up our recipe and stopped using any form of oil and now use only butter in the recipe, fixed that issue. We ended up buying the store brand of these which last about the same period of time (if not longer) but it appears that Waring has stopped making this model. It was tough to rationalize paying the money for this when you could get one of the non-commercial ones for a much lower price all over the place. The WebstaurantStore website is excellent! I purchased an expensive single waffle maker that unfortunately was defective but WebstaurantStore was easy to work with... I ended up replacing the defective appliance with the best quality double waffles option..… it is AMAZING! I am very pleased with this waffle maker and highly recommend this product!!! No comparison to the top end Breville waffle maker that we had before..…this one is so much better! David

Great when it works but it won't work long. The wiring issues that existed in the 220 model seem to be less consistent but still present. After roughly 3-9 months depending on volume the heating element stops working. It will stop cooking one side, middle, or all together. Machine still gets hot which makes me think it is faulty wiring for the heat transfer

While it worked well while it worked. It only lasted us 6 months. For spending $600 it is not worth it.

We serve waffles at my cafeteria and this was a good choice of equipment. Very inexpensive and an excellent price for the quality. Lasted me about 3 years making 50 waffles every day. you can make double at the same time.

It gets the job done, but heats a little unevenly, and the flip seems like a great idea but doesn't work too well in high volume.

My overall impression is generally favorable. While we don't make more than 20 or 30 waffles in a week, cleaning has been a very real issue. For those that have indicated "easy to clean", would you share your technique please? I have heard that use of a soy based spray might help us. We currently use a sunflower oil based spray. Any helpful hints / advice is most welcome.

We use them for our Sunday brunch and they work great and are easy to clean. Makes awesome waffles that people keep coming back for.

I really like the Waring Double Belgian Waffle Iron and will be purchasing several more as needed. They turn out really nice size waffles and hash browns.

I just purchased this waffle iron and really like it so far. The double sided burners are great for doubling efficiency. It cooks very fast and at a high temperature, and is pretty easy to clean.

When it comes to Belgian Waffles, Waring definitely delivers. In under 3 minutes, you get a perfectly cooked waffle that's soft and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Delicious!

We have been using waring waffle irons of sorts for the past 2 years. We mostly have good things to say about them but the heating element in the upper portion has a tendency to go out if you are using them for 50 or so waffles over the course of each day. That being said, however, Waring has done a great job helping us through the issue and replacing them. Just keep it clean and you should not have any issues!

This waffle iron was a replacement for one that shipped to us with no power cord, customer service was great about getting us a new one promptly. cooks really even and quickly for our small restaurant brunch.
