Scratch and Dent VacPak-It SV158 16 Gallon Sous Vide Immersion Circulator Head with LCD Display- 120V, 1800W

I contacted webstaurantstore.com twice now about this item. Once in a message and a second time with a review here and a video. Neither one have been responded to so I guess I have to do it again in another way. The first time I used this product I just wanted to see how long it would take to heat water up to 165 which is the temp I cook wings at. It took over 30 minute to get to temp and then had a hard time keeping it there, The second time I went to use it all it would do is flash the LEDs and beep an alarm sound. It would not work and there was no way to reset it. i unplugged and let it sit multiple times and every time I plugged it in, it would not work. So, my opinion on this item is go for higher quality. And maybe buy it somewhere else, webstaurantstore.com does not seem to want to respond to my issue with it.

It can't run more than 5 gallons, above 160. My other branded unit works far better and is half the price.

This unit worked great for us until a little over a year later (obv they timed the warranty period perfectly!) Now it doesn't start the circulating cycle. It gives us the error code for the water level being outside of the allowable amount, but the water level is between the marks on the unit. We've cleaned the machine, unplugged it, rinsed it, dried it, etc and it still throws the "E01" error code when we press start. So now we have this expensive device that made it a little over a year that's useless now. Can't believe this is supposed to be used in a commercial environment.

You might get two years out of this junk. I’ve gotten longer life out of a $ unit. Stay away from this.

Spent way to much money on this product had less than 2 years and the heating element split open I Called the webstaraunt store they basically told me it is out of warranty and I should take it to a repair shop. There is no repair shop for sous vide that is covered by that brand. It ended up going in my trash! Please don't waste your money on this product they have a short 1 year warranty and nowhere to buy parts.

Terrible product! Gave it one star because I needed to fill the blank. I bought this assuming if it was rated for commercial use it would be great for home use. This unit was used 5 times and always used with filtered water and appropriate amount of water in pot. Company will not replace since it was not commercial use.

I have purchased 3 of these and they work well for about a year, we use these daily so it gets a lot of use. We have since bought a much better brand and it works much better.

This machine worked well when it worked. The pump has stopped pushing water and of course it was out of the 1 year warranty by a few days when the issue came up. No replacement parts to be found, and very little covered by the warranty. Don’t waste your money.

Bought two of these to Sous Vide larger volumes of food in a cooler simultaneously for catering. When they worked, they worked great, but didn't last a year and VacMaster's customer service sucks. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!

Same as previous review. Gave us a low water level error after a month of use. Webstaurantstore.com send us a new one. Received the same exact error code after warranty was up and item was not repairable- Waste of money. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!

this sous vide circulator is nice. it is a great value for the cost of the device. it heats up quickly. It has a powerfully circulating motor

Great value and perfect entry point for us to start into the Sous Vide. We have learned what works and what doesnt without having to purchase a much larger unit. We are very happy with this

This is a super heavy duty sous vide machine. It heats up the water really quickly and has all the features I was looking for!

Really good for the price. The only drawback is no on off switch. You have to unplug it or it will just keep beeping. Not a big deal

Absolute garbage. Have gone through two in six months. Both times the fan motor stopped moving water - rendering the unit useless.

I really don't understand why webstaurant sells this product with all the bad reviews. We rarely use this unit and have had it for a few years. It has had a few random issues from time to time and most recently the heating coil completely failed and split open in quite dangerous fashion. Would not recommend this product and I would go as far as saying to avoid this brand all together.

Doesn't last for more than a few months. Shows an error code to clean the unit but does not instruct on how to adequately clean and remove error code. When the error code runs for long enough, it stops heating the water. This was my second attempt to make this unit work based on my budget. I have been disappointed twice. I don't recommend anyone to buy this.

If you are going to be using this a lot, in a commercial setting, keep looking. We have gone through 2 in less than 2 years of being open. The heating element on the first one blew out, and on the second one, it just keeps giving us an error message that there isn't enough water in the bath. Best case scenario with this is that it breaks within the first year of having it so you can get a replacement. After that first year, warranty is void.

If you need it to work for only like 3 months then buy it. No support for broken. If you have light usage get an anova - way better than this. If you have heavy usage invest in a Poly Sci. Not worth the money

This machine is perfect and does the job in good quality. You don't find any good sou vide machine in this price range.

Had this product for less than 6 months and it worked great but then it suddenly stopped working. The board would light up but we could not change or set any functions including the start button. Very disappointed.

Solid unit for the price. been using since 2020. I routinely poach 60-70 eggs at a time, zero issues. I use it from 130F-198F, and it works. On the higher temps, I use a smaller vessel than the 5 gal to heat it faster, but only a few degrees of drop when adding in product, but it recovers quickly. I use it daily, constantly running for 10 hours and its never left me disappointed. I do maintain it, which will increase reliability, flushing it with vinegar water after every service and opening the cover and cleaning the heating element and pump weekly. I would definitely recommend this product. Im considering buying a 2nd one just to have around as a backup but the price has jumped significantly since then....but still well worth it.

The unit worked fine for a few months and then stopped working. I expected it to last quite a bit longer.

worked well with a 1.8 gal pot and held the temperature great, the controls need a bit more explanation but easy figured out quality over all is good for two uses

This Sous Vide Circulator was easy to understand and use. I used it to cook pork shoulder. It worked wonderfully even with such a large cut of meat.

This circulator is a great addition to any restaurant who wants to start Sous Vide cooking. The price is very reasonable and it has a lot of power which is great for quickly heating water.
