Choice #6 White Thumb Press Disher - 5.33 oz.

Do not recommend for ice cream use. After just two weekends of use (slow wintry weather weekends, I might add), not just one, but both scoops have broken. The swivel mechanism on the inside of the scoop is poorly designed, as it would not stay in place. The gear that grinds as you depress the thumb switch somehow jumped notches on one of the units. For what I thought was going to be a good replacement to our previous scoops, these were certainly a poor choice!!! HIGHLY DISSATISFIED with this model of scoop, I would give it 0 stars if that were possible.

Due to the 2022 supply chain shortages, Hamilton Beach has limited their manufacturing of that product, and we were in desperate need for an alternative. We’ve ordered several dozen of these dishers over the past six months. At that time, this Choice model was readily in stock (and, as a bonus, at a lower cost). Upon receipt, we’d had about a 50% failure rate for these units after a few uses just out of the box. Works ok. Its a decent scoop, but only lasted about 4 weeks scooping cookie dough (about 20 scoops every 3 days). The "Disher" part broke.

High quality ice cream scooper. Right-handed lever. Easy to clean. Easy to use even though, it’s huge. Perfect portion for ice cream, burger patties, rice, mashed potatoes and baking use. I would purchase this again if needed and recommend this to family or friends

These ice cream scoops are wonderful!! We use them to scoop frozen Acai for our smoothie bowls. They are very sturdy, and lasted us an entire farmers market season without anything breaking. Highly recommend.

This scooper has a smooth actuation and holds 2.66 oz of product. It feels good in the hand and isn’t too light. Greenish color handle.

Absolute junk. I’ve used it to portion soft sweet bean paste and it felt apart in less than 3 weeks of use. Neither Webstaurant nor Choice is willing to help, so I’ve wasted my hard earned money. I should have spent little more and bought the disher by Vollrath. They stand behind their products and the same with disher made by them too. I’ll never buy dishers and other mechanical products made by Choice.

I've purchased the #8 scoop twice and it is not sturdy enough. Both of the mechanisms broke after using for just a couple weeks. I will switch to Vollrath.

Broke within 1st month of light use. Do not recommend buying! Scoop swiper snapped off at the post where it's held on with a tiny weld. This has happened to two of these. I bought the Volrath to compare but it also broke quickly. No sure what to purchase next? We need these for prep.

The item broke in less than ninety days. Would not recommend. Very disappointing.

A brilliant tool for cake layering! We use the Choice #12 Disher to scoop buttercream between our cake layers and it ensures perfectly even, symmetrical layers every single time. No more guessing or uneven filling. The consistent 2.66 oz. portion means every layer gets exactly the same amount of buttercream, which makes a huge difference in the final structure and appearance of our cakes. The thumb press release is smooth and effortless.

Bought three of these on 05/06/26. arrived withing a week, it is now 5/31/26 and two of them have broken. solely use these to scoop rice and keep in hot water to prevent it from rice drying and gumming up the mechanisms. The arm that spins break right at the connection point inside the disher making it completely useless

Very well constructed small disher/scooper is perfect for cake truffles. We use them on a daily basis and I can tell you that the spring on this item is durable for our pastry applications.

We purchased two of these scoops recently and within a couple uses of scooping cookie dough, BOTH of the scoops broke. Exactly what Mark G. said in his review is what happened with ours. The swivel mechanism comes undone and wont stay in place. It is impossible to use after that breaks.

They last A couple months now at best I’m constantly buying more. We scoop thin batter
