How can I properly care for cast iron surfaces?
In order to prevent unwanted build-up of oils, grease, and food, surfaces should be cleaned after use while still slightly warm. Harsh chemicals or scouring pads should not be used—only hot water and a cloth or sponge are needed. If some areas require extra cleaning, a mild scouring pad can be used.     Switched over to cast iron panscwhen I found out the non stick pans are bad for your health. This is the smallest cast iron pan I own. It’s of good weight and will last long if I take care of it.
    A great choice for any kitchen. Its nice to change up the presentation from the standard white plate and do a little something different. The cash iron skillet allows the chefs to be a bit creative and think outside the standard serving apparatuses.
    A very good small cast iron skillet. Our business uses it for mini warm cornbread. We bake, cool and reheat the product all in the same pan! Saving prep and cleanup time. Make sure to oil and season the pans often.
    I've been wanting to buy mini cast iron skillets for a REALLY long time now. I saw the price of these and knew I had to buy them! They are small and adorable, and great for individual sized servings of side dishes, casseroles, and desserts. The surface finish of the pan isn't as great as it could be, but I think after continuously seasoning it after use, it should improve. I'm always really excited to use these.

    We use these for our brunch skillets. They are very nice for table presentation and they have not been rusting in the dish machine so that is a bonus. Spray them with vegalene when they come out though.

    These are cute little skillets. They are quite small, but they are a very good quality. They work great for individual corn bread or brownies.
    I use these skillets to bake peasant bread loaves and they work great for that purpose. They retain heat very well, almost as good as a baking stone
    A good deal, but these are not top quality Lodge pans. The pan arrives coated in a waxy (petroleum?) substance. Before you do anything with the pan, it must be heated gently upside down over a foil lined tray, in the oven to get the residue off. Once the coating has melted off, you should wash and scrub it thoroughly in HOT water before you begin the seasoning process. My pan was fairly rough inside and required numerous seasoning treatments to take down some of the surface roughness. The surface is so rough, that food easily stuck to the pan. After a few months of use and plenty of reseasonings, I can happily use this individual sized pan for frittatas and cornbread. If you are willing to do a little work seasoning this pan, you will eventually be happy with it. If you are buying it for frying, rather than baking then just a simple clean and seasoning will suffice.
    These cast iron skillets are the perfect item for an individual dish or dessert. They clean up easily and store nicely. Any busy kitchen should have at least some of these on hand at all times.
    I would rather go with the six and a half inch preseason pans. They will cook better and have a nicer feel to them than these do.
    I returned without even receiving! The quality was so poor that I could not use it in my restaurant. Skillets appeared rusty and the coating could be scraped with my nails. The made in China quality was evident.
    Not happy with this particular item. Go with Lodge, it's a bit more expensive, but made in America, and much better. I pre-seasoned this and all it did was smoke up the entire kitchen, now it feels sticky. The original texture is not smooth to begin with. Seems very poorly made.
    The 6"cast iron skillet is a great size for individual servings. Seasoning the skillet (at least once) before use is crucial. This size will also be good for hot dips served from the oven.

    these are great to have for mexican restaurants or tex-mex restaurants. you can have your steamed tortillas nice and hot and serve them to your guests in these! they look awesome at the table. customers love it!
    I love this cast iron skillet. It is the perfect size for making frittatas for two or for making a skillet cookie for a small crowd. It isn't too heavy but it's not light weight. It's everything you would expect from a cast iron skillet except smaller!
